Chapter 1
________________Anaya's POV
________________What did I just witness? There stood two alleyways directly next to each other. It was originally one but later separated into two, for unknown reasons. Each alleyway held its own sin, and it's sinner. I saw both murders go down. On the alleyway to the left there was a man hovering over a woman with a knife in his hand. I knew that alleyway. I knew that knife. Not only that, but I knew that woman. The only thing that I wasn't familiar with was the well-built man who has the murder weapon in his hand. Before I could see the mysterious man stab the woman who I considered family for a second time, I looked away.
Oh, how I wish I'd done that earlier. Now it only meant that I was now the target of two murders. The witness. We all know what happens to the witness.
The life being taken in the left alleyway was also someone I knew. That was Josh. He is nineteen. He is a small- time dealer, well was a small-time dealer. The bullet wound in his head just clarified that he would never deal on these streets ever again-or any street for that matter.
I didn't see the faces of either but both had extremely recognizable features. The one to the left had these eyes. They looked cold and ruthless. Like a predator always hunting its prey. It felt as if it stares into the souls of people and suck the life right out of them.
The man in the right alleyway was who I saw more of. I memorised the entire left side of his body. Both pathways were dark, but there were tiny lamps that illuminated just enough light for me to witness the murderous acts. He held a gun to Josh's head. Without saying a word he just fired his gun. I'm pretty sure it had a silencer on it because the shots weren't as loud as I expected. He was clearly Caucasian. His smile resembled a hyena. He looked like the type of man who would kill someone just to get a laugh out of it.
Something was trickling down my face and I looked up to the sky to notice that the rain had been pelting on me the whole time. I was soaked already. When did it start raining? Was it raining this whole time and I didn't even notice?
I closed my eyes trying to get my memory in order. When I reopened them, I was horrified. Both men were now coming towards me. One running towards me with urgency while the other stalked towards me creepily.
I needed to get out of here. My feet began to move on their own accord, not waiting for my mind to catch up. Then the questions started coming. Where would I go? Who would want me? Wherever I go I'm sure these creatures of death would follow. My train of thought was cut off abruptly by a blaring horn followed by excruciating pain then plain darkness. Everything faded. I remember my last thought being that if I died here both men would have less trouble getting rid of the pesky witness.

"Anaya!"
I was now in total darkness. The only thing that met my eyes was black. Where was I? This isn't an actual room in a house. It feels more like a room in my head.
"Anaya!" The voice calls again.
I turn around looking for the body who owns the voice but found nothing.
"Stop looking. You can't see me, but you need to listen to me very carefully. "
I don't know what it was about that voice. Maybe it was the tone. Maybe it was the calmness it spoke with. Maybe I was just delusional, but I felt like I could trust the unknown voice.
"What are you talking about?"
"Where am I?"
"Who are you?"
"What's happening?"
My question rapidly came, one right after the other, leaving no actually time for a reply."Relax. I can imagine you have many questions. I am only allowed to tell you the answer to a few. This won't make sense to you later on but just pretend it does for now."
IT ALREADY DOESN'T MAKE ANY FUCKING SENSE TO ME!
I have never felt this helpless and confused in a while. I still can't understand what the hell is going on, and I have a feeling that this voice isn't going to give me any answers.
"I know you're confused. I'm here to say a few things, then I'll leave. I'm not allowed to stay any longer than my words."
This bitch does realise its speaking gibberish to me right?
"Your life is about to change. You get to choose if it's for the better or for the worse."
"How the fuck am I supposed to know which is which?" I inquired. Yes, I am aware that I am using a lot of obscene language, but I'm fucking confused and swearing seems to help.
"What is about to happen to you is a way of helping you. Don't be alarmed by the blankness."
This hoe just decided to zoom past my last question huh?
"You need to get ready. It's about to happen. Remember what I said."
Then the voice stopped.
I have so many questions right now.
"So are you gonna give me actual answers or just talk in the most vague way possible?"
"I can't say anymore. I need to leave. Goodbye."
What the fuck?
"AYO! Hold the fuck up. You can't just say some random ass confusing words then fucking dip! Get back here and explain." I shouted.
"I must go. My time is running out. Goodbye past Anaya. Remember, Careful who you trust. Or trust no one."
Time clearly wasn't on my side because the voice had left.
Suddenly I was taken out from one darkness, only to be put into an even blander darkness. Then I slowly started to fade away along with my thought.
Ew. Ok there it is. Chapter one. I'm thinking about giving each chapter a specific name...should I?
Also feel free to point out errors(in a nice way)
I shall now disappear.
