I stand up from my bed frustrated, Maggs still sits just looking at me worried. I can't shake that I'm fucking pissed off, and sad. "I have a feeling that I'll never be good enough to be within a relationship."
"You don't really, think that about yourself, Melissa?" Her concerning voice makes me want to cry.
"Maggie, what do you expect me to feel when he chose her over me He chose stupid Jose," I'm fighting back the tears.
"I know, I know Mel. I thought he was the one for you," She stands up and starts walking tours me.
"You don't think I know that I'm the one who dated him for almost two years. It kills me-" Maggie cuts me off in a hug.
"Shh, I'm here," In those two words the tears finally came out in one solid stream. "You deserve better."
"I know, but I still love him and I hate that I love him," The words get caught in my weeping.
"I get it, Melissa,"
"No!"I break off the embrace she was holding me in. I'm sorry Maggs but I don't think you get that. Even with everything that him and I have been through, he always goes back to her," I paused getting caught by tears. "I don't think that you do get that it kills me knowing that... I-I'll always be second best."
"You are not second best Mel. He was stupid to leave you."
"Okay, so that means all of my perves boyfriends are stupid then. Every single one of them, I wasn't good enough for any of them. They never pick me!" I screamed at her. "Try to convince me that, that's isn't true."
"They didn't leave you for someone else," She tries to calm me down.
"You know what, I'm leaving because my best friend can't see that all of my relationships ended because I'm not good enough and that I'm right!" I start to walk away.
"No! You do not get to say that and just walk away." She grabs my arm. "We help each other through tough times."
I shrug her off. "Why? Because we both know that you don't know what it feels like to be truly heartbroken. Because all of your relationships ended because you broke them off not the other way around." I walk out the door.
I went outside to get some fresh air to breathe, instead of in a room where Maggie can come into. I looked down at my phone to see a text from Maggs saying to come back inside and talk. I'm about to text her back, but I crash into something, but it wasn't something it was someone.
"Oh, sorry," I say, stepping back to see the person.
"Oh no, it's okay. You look kinda stress, anything on your mind." The person happens to be a nice-looking man, that looks like he's a little older then me with brown hair, green-blue eyes, and a dashing smile.
"Yeah, something is. I just came outside to get some air."
"At night?" He asked in a humorous tone.
"Yep, I'm that person. My best friend and I fought," I say honestly.
"Oh, sounds um interesting,"
"Yeah, you have no idea."
"Well, I was just about to go to the campus bar if you want to come and talk about it. I'm a good listener." He offers me.
"As much as that offer seems tempting. I don't even know your name and pulse you know stranger danger," I joked.
"Oh, Sorry, manners I'm Kai," he offers his hand out.
"Well nice to meet you, Kai," I shake it.
"Aaaand you are?" he asks and he was a little charming.
"Ah yes, My name is Melissa,"
