"Be honest with me, Meg. Exactly how many women did you sleep with this summer?"
Meg closed her locker to see her best friend, Ethan, standing before her. He was clutching a physics textbook to his chest, raising an eyebrow at the exhausted teenager.
"Do we really need to be having this conversation so early?" Meg groaned, grabbing her own textbook. They were late for their first class.
"Yes, we do," He sped up behind Meg in order to catch up, as she had already started to walk away. "At least half of the girls on the cheer team have been talking about sensational orgasms, and we both know their boyfriends had nothing to do with it"
She smirked quietly to herself as she walked, "You're just jealous because you can't find anyone to fill you up"
Ethan gasped dramatically as he caught up to her side. Even though he was slightly taller than the girl, she would always be faster. "I'm just waiting for the right guy. Tell me, how many of those cheerleaders finished you off?"
Meg scoffed, trying to brush the comment off. She made a sharp turn into the physics classroom, with Ethan riding behind at her heels. "What's so bad about it anyway? Are you trying to slut-shame me or something?"
"You really think I would do that? I'm just worried, that's all," He huffed as the pair took their normal seats towards the back of the classroom. "Imagine the target on your head if any of their boyfriends were to find out it was you finger-blasting their girlfriends instead of them."
"Finger-blasting? What are you, five?" She laughed again in order to lighten the mood.
"Jesus Christ, Meg. You know what I mean!"
"Yeah I know, I just like teasing you." Her smirk only grew wider as she flipped through her defaced textbook. "But I can handle myself. I've been doing it for years."
"I just don't see what's stopping you from committing to a serious relationship." He sighed, quieting down some as class was about to begin. "You're the literal embodiment of a hex girl. Fuck if I were straight, I would date you."
"Same thing that's stopping you, Smartass." She scoffed, "We're the only gay students in this school."
"We don't know that for sure." Ethan chimed optimistically, he had always been the more positive of the pair.
She simply rolled her eyes and went back to her textbook, pretending to be reading as Mr. Morris was striding down the rows.
As much as she hated to admit it, Ethan was right. She was fucked if any of the football players found out her summer fling shenanigans. However, she doubt they would. Each of the women she watched writhe in pleasure went back to ignoring her the next day, pretending as though the night before had never happened. No texts the next morning, no calls for a second round, no contact whatsoever.
Meg was right too, there were no other gay women that she knew of at Summit High. If there had been, she would have found them by now. While many of the girls asked for her over the summer, they were solely in it for the pleasure. This meant no kissing, touching, or buildup of any kind. Not a single one asked her to stay the night, instead kicking her to the curb once the deed was done. They were definitely straight.
She found herself spacing out completely as her eyes traced over the words in her book, reading and re-reading the same sentence over and over again. She only snapped out of it as Ethan called out to her during a break.
"Are you at least going to try out for the musical?" He asked curiously, "You promised me last year that you would."
"You know I don't sing, Ethan." She groaned at the thought, however knowing that he was correct.
