sirens and police vehicles chased me. my feet didn't gave up and ran through the streets, pushing everyone through while police officers shouted for me. a gush of wind came from above and a helicopter was circulating the area. i didn't care about anything else, i didn't care about anyone around me. only thing that mattered to me was my chance to live. i didn't want to die like this. i didn't want all of this to happen in the first place.

4 officers stood before me, blocking the path for me to run past them. my eyes looked for an escape and noticed a alleyway. i didn't care where it lead me to, hiding is something i needed to prioritise first. i jumped over the wooden fence and hid behind a building. "fuck,where did that bastard go?" the police officer screamed in anger and disbelief. "we'll check this way, sir" another informed and ran off the opposite direction.

i sigh in relief while keeping low to avoid being seen. i looked around the area and spotted a figure in the distance, looking afar. im pretty sure they know im wanted. so i tried making less noises to move out but unfortunately, i stepped on a twig with a snap under my feet.

"i know you're there. you don't have to be sneaky you know." the figure said. it seems to look like she's smoking, but without a care in the world.
"looks like you caught me, ill leave now-" "no, stay" i was cut off, shocked too. "but don't you know im a criminal? they could arrest you too" i said, hoping the officers don't overhear.

"i am very aware actually. ive seen you on the news and all but i don't pay much attention to it." the girl took another puff of her cigarette before throwing it on the ground and putting it out.

there was a small moment of silence. i do admit, it was awkward but i need to get out of here. she's wasting my time and id get caught sooner or later. i didn't want her to get involved either.

"live with me, in my apartment" the girl turned around and looked at me, but i chuckled out seeing how cute she was.

"live with you? do you know what i have done? i commited arson and id do the same to you. so i think we should go our separate ways and go on with our lives" i walked away but i felt a hand grabbed mine.

"i don't care, you're living with me" the girl pulled me into the apartment building, but she made sure my face wasn't recognisable. we made it to her apartment and she left to a room which i suppose it was her bedroom. i didn't know where else to go so i plopped myself on her couch and took off my mask and cap. i relaxed my eyes for a moment, which then turned to a deep sleep after a while.
