When U-1146 discovered the lifeless remains of Red Blood Cells in the hemorrhagic shock episode, he thought his beloved Ae3803 was gone. He thought he would never meet her again. To never see her vibrant smile, to her determination, to her clumsiness that he loves about her.
However, he was so relieved when he saw Ae3803 safe and alive at the end of the episode after the blood transfusion happened. He smiles to himself and is happy that he is able to see her again throughout their lifespan. If she had died, he would of never smiled again.
