CHAPTER 1:
I slowly wake up to the light sound of rain thumping against my apartments glass windows. I make myself roll out of my comfy bed and slide my rather small feet into warm slippers. I pet my cat, Romeo, and make my way towards the long windows. I push the ivory curtains aside and see a busy New York in front of me. Gray clouds surrounding the sky and people running with umbrellas through slippery streets. I walk to the kitchen and decide to fix myself something to eat. My apartment is rather large considering where I live. I could never afford afford such a fancy apartment if it weren't for my amazing job at Vogue and of course the help of my super successful parents. They aren't your ordinary parents. My mom is a famous model for Victorious Secret, and my dad is a pro golfer. I am currently just working the front desk as the receptionist. In my free time I love to dance and when I can ride horses. I try not to let my parents success determine my future. Not less than a month ago was I almost homeless until my parents forced to help me. I want to be independent. I want to be known as Ava Noel. Not the daughter of blah blah blah.
I finish my breakfast and run over to my bathroom turning on my curling iron. I flip on my favorite radio and begin to get ready for my day. I go into my closet and pick a stylish, yet very warm outfit. Black leggings, a loose oversized, cream sweater, and lastly a very long, charcoal scarf. I pick out a few rings and poke gold hoops through my ear. I curl my dirty, blonde hair which falls all the way down my back. I wash my face, making me wake up, and break out my makeup box. Doing my makeup relaxes me. Gives me time to think. Today I go for a smokey eye and finish off with a light pink lip. I apply some lush and spray a little perfume around my wrist and neck. Lastly I slip on long, cream colored socks with buttons, and lace up my combat boots over. I grab my white iPhone, messenger bag and my keys. I set out cat food, say goodbye to Romeo, and lock p my apartment. I make my way to the elevator and finally out of the huge building. As soon as I walk out I let my lungs breath in the cool winter air. Luckily the rain has stopped long enough for me to go to my favorite coffee shop that I go to every morning before work at 8:30. I walk into the warm cafe and inhale the scent of coffee and fresh pastries. My favorite is the old fashioned music. Real music. I am greeted by my best gay friend Kurt, who works here. Oh how I love him.
"Good morning love." he says with a smile
"Good morning. Can I please get a-"
"Yeah yeah yeah. I know, a carmel macchiato with extra whip, extra carmel and a dash of chocolate sprinkles with a glazed donut to go" he winks
"You know me to well, Kurt. " I wink back
As he finishes making my drink I start to hand him money when an English yet raspy voice stops me and I turn around to see a very attractive man. Much taller than I am, chocolate brown curls, emerald green eyes, and dimples that could kill you with one smile. I can't seem to take my eyes off him and find myself getting lost in him.
"Here let me get that.." he winks, pulling out a 20 dollar bill and handing it to Kurt smiling at me.
"You didn't have to do that" I mumble, trying to hide my smile
"Whoops, already did.. Come sit with me?" he asks, still with that cheeky smile on his adorable face
"Uh.. Sure it's the least I can do.." I smile and wink back at Kurt. Kurt keeps raising his eyebrows at me which makes me laugh and turn red.
We find a rather comfy corner and sit down at the small table. I take the scorching drink and raise it to my lips taking a sip which makes my throat burn, with pleasure.
"So mystery boy, mind me asking why you bought me coffee? I don't think I know you.." I ask, cocking an eyebrow at him
"Haha I assure you I'm not a stalker or some crazy person. I just thought you were adorable and didn't want to leave without meeting you" he says while looking into my eyes and smiling
