everything came crashing down december 4th, when i looked at my phone to see his name appear. he told me he needed a favor, he didn't specify though. i still remember the feel of the gravel under my shoes as i approached his doorstep, eager to knock and find out what it was that drove him to text me at 4 in the morning. it all felt like a fever dream. god, how did i get myself into this? everything was so amazing. now i'm at gun point with my life flashing in front of my eyelids.

he was dressed up, more than a normal person would be at 4 in the morning, with a duffel bag beside him. it was zipped, looked packed to the very brim. he told me to get in his car because he had some business to take care of. i didn't bother questioning him. i should've questioned him god damnit. we could've had a different ending. it didn't have to come to this ...

i remember feeling my heart race as we pulled up to the house. i remember the way they cornered him. he took the duffel bag, unzipped it and threw it to the floor. filled to the top with bags with a certain white powder and money stacks. i was shocked. i remember the feeling of my heart sink into my stomach as my knees fell weak. one of them put their hands on him. everything is so blurred together. i can barely feel anything. the next thing i remember is the sound of the trigger firing off. the blood of the man who put his hands on him danced on the walls. one, two, three, four.

my ears rang. i had looked down and saw the bloodshed from all of the seven men that were in the house. the sirens replace the ringing in my ears. my skin danced with the blood that ran cold from the men who's hearts beat no longer. the next thing i remember is the ringing of the gun as a policeman fell to the floor. then another one, then another one. he grabbed my hand. i can still feel the comfort that washed over my body when he grabbed my hand. he made everything better, like always. he pulled me and we ran. we ran until our legs felt numb. we were in the middle of nowhere. we still kept running.  then the faint sound of more sirens began to ring off in the distance ...
