chapter one (diliana)

  When I read zombie stories I think about how the people in it have it good. Zombies in my town like to eat ours and other zombie brains. Yes we have canablistic zombies. My mother once told me about when she was a teenager the zombies took everyone she loved. Her mother,sisters,and her boyfriend.

She was sent to love with my grandfather who she hated. When she met my father she didn't want his love for in fear of losing him too but she couldn't help herself. Now seventeen years later they are both still alive and very much in love.

Today is a day we call assignment day where we find out our future.simce I have a boyfriend I have to wear light blue to let them see I already have someone when they hand out betrothalments. There are two catigories the taken and the single.the sunless will be pared up with eachother and if the taken decide they want out then they will be too.

   I finish dressing and go eat breakfast. "Honey you look darling," my mom kisses me on the head. I blush and smile at her she knows I hate it when she does that. "So do you think that Charlie will propose to you today sweetie?" She asks. I smile and just say that I hope so. Dad clears his throat and u laugh knowing this is a touchy subject for him.

  i smile at him and wink but he just shakes his head. i laugh and tell my mother that i have to go and kisss her and my dad on the cheek. i walk out of the house with charlie escorting me and to the choosing hall where i will know my life (a/n i only just saw and read the giver and when i wrote i first wrote this i did not mean for that to be like the giver alas this book is about zombuies too so it is not a rip off the giver :) enjoy!)
