Chapter 1

        "Alec, get your lazy ass up! You're gonna be late!" Tyler yelled through my closed door, I groned and sat up, "Yea yea, I'm up!" I yelled back. I stood and walked over to my dresser I pulled on a pair of black skinny jeans and a lose fitting, dark blue, t-shirt. I combed my brown hair and flipped it to the side, then I put on socks and my black converse. I went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth, then went downstairs and grabbed my bag from the couch. "You're gonna be late my ass." I mumbled walking out the front door and heading for the school. I walked alone as usual, Tyler always left right after he woke me up. I sighed, sometimes I hated not having friends. Well, I guess saying I have no friends is a lie, I have Megan and her boyfriend Dominic who I always hang out with. And I guess Hayden counts as a friend too, although, he's with Tyler most of the time. I stood on the far side of the parking lot, away from mostly everybody. I could see Tyler, surrounded by his little gang of friends, all the popular kids, and he was right in the center. Him and Hayden. They were considered the hottest guys in the school, Tyler was the player and the ladies man. Hayden tho, he'd never actually had a girlfriend, not that I knew of anyway. I'll admit, while I question Tyler being attractive, Hayden, I don't. He's pretty hot. "Alec!" I turned my head as I heard Megan call my name. "Hey, what's up?" I asked stuffing my hands in my pockets. She shrugged, "Same old, you?" She said sounding bored, I chuckled, "Tyler's still an ass, I'm still an outcast, nothing's changed... except I think I was thinking that Hayden is hot..." I said confused, she raised her eyebrows. "I mean, him and Tyler have the title 'Hottest guys' but Tyler's not attractive. I can agree that Hayden is tho... is that weird?" I asked scratching the back of my head, I was confusing myself. "No, guys can tell when another guy is attractive or not." Megan said.

        I looked at the ground, then back up at where Tyler and Hayden were standing. Tyler enjoyed all the attention, Hayden looked bored and annoyed, he rolled his eyes and looked at me. I looked down quickly and shook my head. "Why am I always like this when it comes to him... you'd think I had a crush on him or something." I groaned. Megan chuckled, "Maybe you do." She said caually as she walked away. I stood there staring at the ground thinking about what she said. Maybe I did... I mean, I could act normal around him, but my mind was always racing and confused, and my heart would do some weird shit when he was around. I could never look him in the eyes either... but that could have been because of... "Alec?" I jumped and looked up, "You okay?" Hayden asked confused. I nodded, "Yea, yea I'm just tired." I said shrugging and adjusting my bag on my shoulder. Usually I was good at lying, but Hayden could always tell when I was. "That's not what's bothering you tho. Did something happen?" He asked, he had taken a step closer to me and my heart sped up. Shit, this is not happening... I can't like him, it's not right... "Uh... I... I'm trying to decide if I like someone or if I'm just going insane and being an idiot." I said chuckling. "Well who Is it?" He asked, I just looked at him with a blank expression. I didn't know what to do or say. I didn't know how to react and I panicked. "Uh... um... I..." My breathing was getting louder as I started to struggle, My whole body was starting to shake and my head was spinning. "Alec?" Hayden's voice sounded far away, I knew I had to tell him what was wrong, I needed help, I was having a panic attack. "P...Pan... att...ack..." I choked out gasping. My legs were getting weak and I felt like I was spinning.

        "Panic attack? Alec, are you...?" Hayden asked,he looked scared, I could only nod. My legs gave out and I started to crumple to the ground, my eyes rolling back into my head and closing. Hayden caught me before my head hit the ground, "Shit, Alec!? Alec open your eyes, you need to stay awake!" He yelled shaking me lightly. I opened my eyes half way, I was gasping fot air and couldn't move. Hayden was holding me so my waist down was on the ground and my waist up was in his arms, so I was sitting up mostly straight. "Breathe Alec, deep breathes. Fuck, where's your inhaler?" Hayden said trying to sound calm, but I could see his face, he looked scared, and his eyes were watering. "Y-you... c... crying?" I breathed out confused. He quickly wiped his eyes, "No, now where is your damn inhaler?" He said patting my pockets, I shook my head. "B-bag" I gasped. I was fighting to keep my eyes open at this point, but I knew I needed to, last time I had to go the the hospital. "Here" Hayden said shoving my inhaler in my hand, I breathed out and brought the plastic to my mouth. I inhaled the medicine breathing in deeply. After two puffs my breathing slowed and my eyes opened the whole way. "Better?" He asked, I shook my head. "S... still, l-light h... headed..." I breathed out slowly, I let my head fall back and sighed as I closed my eyes. "Alec open your eyes, you have to stay awake, please. No more hospital trips for a while?" He said, his voice cracked and he sounded like he was crying. "Alec open you eyes god damn it! Please..." He yelled shaking my shoulders roughly, my eyes stayed shut, and I slipped into complete darkness.
