I needed to wake up, to open my eyes, to move, something. I'd been unconscious for too long, at least, it felt like I'd been, but it was hard to tell. I was still in complete darkness, but I could think now, that was good. I tried to focus on my body, finding it, feeling where it was, nothing. I tried to focus on opening my eyes, and again, nothing. I wanted to wake up, I'm outside, in front of the school, everyone was starting to go inside when I passed out. Great, another unexcused absence, and I actually came.Wait, wasn't Hayden with me? We had been talking, that's why I panicked, because he wanted to know who I like. Was he still sitting with me, or did he go to get help? I focused on trying to hear. "Alec please..." I heard a voice, it was far away and quiet, I couldn't make out what was said. I focused harder, willing myself to hear. "Please wake up Alec, school is almost over, Tyler's gonna be here soon... last time this happened you didn't want him to know, he's gonna tell your mom..."

I was trying so hard to open my eyes, I could hear now, and I could tell it was Hayden who was talking. I was struggling to move, I was laying down on something softer than the ground, my head had something soft and damp on it, I wanted to move it and realized my hand was being held. Was Hayden holding my hand? My heart started being faster. I tried to squeeze his hand, but I could only move my thumb. "Alec? Alec can you hear me?" Hayden asked quickly, his hand tightening around mine. I moved my thumb again and managed to nod slightly. "Can you move, open your eyes, please, something..." He sounded desperate, I squeezed my hand that he was holding and my eyes slowly opened. At first the dim light was blinding, but then my eyes adjusted, I felt Hayden take his hand away from mine. Turning my head I looked at him, his eyes were wet and he looked relived. "H-Hayden?" I said, my voice was quiet and scratchy, "yea? Are you okay?" He asked, moving so he could sit on the edge on the bed I was laying on.

I looked around, I was in Hayden's room, I'd seen it enough times to know. "Why are we at your house?" I asked confused, my voice sounded like my throat was made of sand paper. "I didn't think you'd be happy with someone seeing and calling your mom. I'm gonna go get you some water, I'll be back." He said standing and walking to the door, I nodded and stared at the ceiling. The light grey paint was starting to peel in some places, maybe he'd pay me to re-paint while with and Tyler went to one of their parties. I sighed and sat up, I just wanted to go home and hide in my room, I was tired. I stood and looked out the window, eyeing the conveniently placed tree that I could easily climb out onto and down into his yard. I could leave, he'd want to know what happened, why I freaked out the way I did. I wasn't up for explaining, especially not to him. Quickly, I opened his window and climbed out onto the tree and carefully climbed down. I took of running the second my feet hit the ground, and I didn't stop until I was home, and safely locked in my room.
