All For Us

Chapter 2

This is a really, really short chapter and i'm sorry for that. My friends have been killing for one. I wrote it really quick and its awful. :/ but please comment and let me know what you think. All seems good this is chapter so how do you think Neil ended up in that hospital? Let me know your thoughts. :) Happy Friday!!! 

“Hello?” Neil said removing his hand from head and waving it in front of my face. I couldn’t explain the emotions I was feeling. He was really here, in front of me. My smile quickly disappeared as I saw Anu behind Neil. She had her arms crossed and had a big smile on her face. “Let go of me” I said looking from her to Neil. “What?” Neil said looking confused. I looked back at Anu, who was now swinging side to side wiggling her eyebrows. “I told you let go of me” I said putting my hand on his, trying to push it away. “Really you want me to let go?” he says raising his eyebrows. “Yes” I said annoyed. “Okay as you wish your highness” he said letting go of me. My back hit the hard cold floor in a second. “oww” I said putting my hand on my back. Neil bent down next to me. “I thought you wanted me to let go of you?” he said smiling. I stare at him in disbelief. I still couldn’t grasp the idea of him being here.

I look down feeling embarrassed. “Here, take my hand” he said standing up and putting his hand forward. I happily took it and get my feet back on the ground. I smile up at him like an idiot. “um...so how did you fall?” he asked walking closer to me, making my heart beat faster. I took a step back quickly. “I’ll be right back” I blurt out before walking away. I run up the stairs to my room and lock the door. “what just happened” I thought to myself, was he really here? I walk over to my desk and pick up a water bottle, taking a big gulp. I close the lid and quickly walk to the mirror. I look at my self and gag.(she is totally not pessimistic :P) I wonder what Neil thinks of my awful face after so many years. I comb the side of the hair with my fingers. “Why do I care?” I asked myself even though I knew the answer. I shook off the thought before running out again. Seems like that’s all I’ve been doing today.

“What happened?, Where did you go?” Neil asked once I approached him. “Um...I forgot something, so I went to get it” I lied. “why do you look to nervous?” he asked smiling. “I-I I’m not” I stutter. “Okay forget about all this, tell me one thing.” he said crossing his hands. “Did you miss me?” he asked stepping closer while I took a step back. “um...no...i mean...yeah I did” I say smiling. “Stop this nonsense Devika” I said mentally. “I knew you would” he said with a smirk on his face.“What?” I asked. “If I missed you this much” he said expanding his hands like a little kid. “Then of course you missed me even more.” I smiled looking away. When I turned back to him, he was already walking to the couch. “Wait...I have to talk to you” I say walking over to him. “really, you wanna talk?” he asked raising his eyebrow. “What do you mean?” I ask. He takes my hand and walks to the couch, making me sit. “well ever since I got here, I’ve been the only one doing all the talking” he said looking at me. “I- I’m sorry, its just i’m still kind of shocked that you’re actually here” I say smiling. He smiles back at me before wrapping his arms around me.  “cough cough” I quickly pulled back from Neil. “Neil this is my friend Anu” I said standing up. “I’m Neil, nice to meet you” Neil said smiling. “Oh no need for introductions, I know who you are” Anu said sitting next to neil on the couch. Neil looked confused “You do?” Anu smiled at me and put up her left eyebrow. “Of course, I mean you have been the topic of this house all week” I glared at her but smiled as soon as Neil looked up at me. “Is that so…” he said standing up. “um...where is-” My sentence was cut short as I heard a gasp. I turned around to be met by the warmest smile. “Mom, where have to two been?” Neil asked walking over to his parents. she didn’t respond to him as she walked over to me, dropping her bags from her hands. I gave her a hug as tears fell from my eyes. Our families were so close, Aalia was like a second mom to me. Whenever I did something wrong, she used cover for me so mom wouldn’t yell at me. Where did all those times go? I thought. “You look so beautiful” she said pulling and smiling. “Please, says the one who hasn’t aged one bit” I say smiling back at her and wiping her tears away. “Now, now this is unfair Aalia, you are hogging my daughter” Arnav, Neil’s dad said walking up to us. I smiled, taking his hand and walking to the couch. “Oh my god” I said gasping and pointing to his belly. “You still haven't learned to control your diet, still haven’t cut down on those milkshakes huh? I say making both of us sit on the couch. “Well no was there to stop me” he said looking at me with a sad smile. “Where is Anita? I need to see her” Aalia asked looking around. “She is in the kitchen, I’ll take you two” I say making both me and Neil’s dad stand up. Before I could start walking, Anu shot up from her sit. “No, no you stay here, I’ll take them.” She said starting to walk, only to turn back again and wink. This girl is crazy, did she really think that Neil wouldn’t see that. “So your friend...is nice” Neil said once I sat back down on the couch. I sighed looking at him. “Did you see mom and dad already” I asked, trying change the topic. “Of course, you think I would sitting here with you if I hadn’t?” I asked looking around the house. “Are you ready for tomorrow?” I asked looking anywhere but at him. “Of course, this Diwali will be the best one of your life, I mean I’m here so…” I laughed at his answer, the same Neil I have always known. I guess nothing has changed.
