Party

There were only about 30 minutes till people would start showing up, and I was still standing in my pajamas.

I was in a good mood, though. We had already put the music on and I could hear it playing through the speakers in the living room from my own room.

I was so indecisive I always had a hard time figuring out what to wear, especially to things like this. It wasn't going to be massive, Nekesa expected between 20-30 people to show up.

Finally, I pulled a top and some jeans out of my closet. The top was see-through with just the smallest amount of glitter. So it was still festive, but not childish. I decided to wear a black top with spaghetti straps underneath it though. The sleeves were wide and I just honestly loved that.

It lowkey made me feel like Francis in Reign.

I put my black straight-leg jeans on, and I honestly thought the outfit was cute. I was too lazy to do anything to my hair besides brushing it, and I kept my makeup simple.

I went out into the kitchen where Nekesa was setting up the snacks we had bought. I made myself a little pre-party drink, just because I wanted to.

"Starting early, huh?" Nekesa looked up at me.

I just shrugged while bringing the glass to my lips.

People started showing up, and we were in a really good mood. It was fun to just let loose every once in a while. And while I didn't plan on getting completely wasted, the alcohol did very nicely contribute to a feeling of easiness.

Some of the people I knew very well, and some I barely remembered the name of.

I was in the kitchen, talking to a girl, Eulalie, whom I had a lot of classes with in uni. She was this pretty blonde-haired girl, and very sweet to talk to, but we didn't really have a lot in common.

Deja Vu by Scarlet Pleasure was playing, and I couldn't help but zone out of her story about how she got a pearl stuck in her nose in 1st grade.

A knock on the door made me snap out of my thoughts, and I excused myself as I went to open it.

Suddenly, I could not remember one single word from the English language.

He smiled at me while I dumbfoundedly stared up at him in confusion and disbelief.

"Harrreeeehhhh!" Nekesa squealed as she pushed past me to hug the man at the door.

"I was starting to think you wouldn't show up," She stated as she pulled away again. "Haven't become too fancy for a trash party with the mediocre people, huh?"

I stepped to the side, awkwardly watching their conversation.

"Never, especially if it's one of your parties," He spoke, and his voice is exactly as I remember.

I took a breath, reminding myself that he's a normal person like the rest of us.

"This is Claire, my girlfriend." She gestured to Claire and Harry pulled her into a friendly hug.

"I've heard a lot about you," He smiled.

"I'm sorry, I can't say the same," She spoke honestly. I freaking love Claire, she and Nekesa really are a power couple.

"And this is Ave, but I hear you've already met," Their eyes fell on me and I smiled awkwardly at them, still not believing that I've run into Harry Styles for the second time this week.

"Right, yes, it's a pleasure to meet you again so soon," He declared as he pulled me into a hug.

He smelled good.
