wait·ing
ˈwādiNG/
nounthe action of staying where one is or delaying action until a particular time or until something else happens.
That's all I've been doing since my birthday last year.
I've been waiting for the star Chris Brown to come back into my life since July 2nd, 2013 when he left me to go back to business. He promised me he'd come back for me as long as I stayed loyal to the nigga who wasn't even mine. Well fuck that! I'm tired of waiting and waiting and waiting...tired of wading into space. No relationships or sex with any other man was really tough considering I got a million men willing to take a bullet just to wife me up! It's been two years and I'm sick of waiting.
Today's my birthday again, and it was time for me to get my shit back in check...
Oh, I forgot to introduce myself! My names Monica Vertes, but people usually call me Moni. I'm a runway model, most popularly known for my work with Victoria's Secret. I'm African-American with long dark brown hair, pretty brown eyes, and a light golden complexion.
Well, enough about my ass, back to the big day.
Today's my 24th birthday. It was 7:45 P.M. and the start of something new. I was getting ready to go to the Santa Monica night club where I first met Chris so that I could meet someone new and spend my birthday exactly how I wanted to spend it two years ago: going home with a new man who genuinely cared for me.
First, I finished straightening my hair. After that I applied some makeup that highlighted my cheekbones and some lipstick that made my lips look more kissable. After slipping on my red Vera Wang designer dress and my Louboutins, I walked outside to my Blacked Out Bentley with red rims and accents that glow in the dark. Finally, I hopped in and drove off.

I arrived at the club thirty minutes later with my main girl Cassie and my two bodyguards Bruno and Marc. I looked at my shiny silver Rolex and checked the time. It was 10 o' clock sharp.
"Just in time," I told Cassie with a smile on my face. "This is when the rich niggas start rollin' in!"
As we stepped out of the car, I pulled out my solid gold iPhone 6 and posted a tweet to any man in Cali.
@missmonivertes: "Spending my birthday at the Equinox club in Santa Monica...hoping to get lucky ;)"
I put my phone into my Alexander Wang clutch before taking a deep breath. Finally, me and Cassie took a step inside as Bruno held the door open for us. '2 On' by Tinashe was playing loudly as neon lights flashed all around the club.
I took a deep breath. There were thousands of people around me. To tell the truth, I was terrified! It'd been a minute since I had hung out with anyone besides Cassie, and it'd been a couple of minutes since I'd interacted with any men besides my bodyguards and Chris (unless it was for a modelling gig). Most of all, I was scared to break my promise to Chris. I was scared to break my loyalty to him. Suddenly, my thoughts were interrupted by someone pinching my arm.
"The fuck?" I growled while making a full 360.
"Sorry Moni, but you've been waiting long enough. Imma be here with you all night. I know you still thinking about Chris but you got no reason to! After all, he broke his promise to you. That nigga stood you up! You got this girl. Let's go find you a man!" Cassie yelled.
It's like this girl could read my mind.
"You're right Cassie," I replied. I took another deep breath. "Let's go find me a man so good I'll forget that nigga Chris ever walked into my life!
