Your shoes clunk dully on white tiles as you make your way into the elevator of the ever sleek Stark Tower. It's been a while, you think to yourself as you step into the awaiting elevator car. A smile finds its way to your face as soon as you hear the familiar voice of JARVIS.
"Good afternoon, Miss Stark, it's so nice to have you back after so long away at school." The pleasant voice of the AI fills your stomach with a sweet nostalgic feeling. You smile up towards the speaker fondly, remembering all of the times you would ask him dumb questions for homework or just out of boredom whilst growing up between these walls.
"Hey JARV. How's the tower been holding up without me?" You smirk lightly as the elevator begins its whooshing ascent to the top floors.
"Barely keeping it together, Miss Y/N." At that you giggle, adjusting your bag on your shoulder and pulling your cardigan tighter around your waist. "Sir wasn't expecting you so early, as he is in a meeting, but I will alert him to your arrival."
"Thanks, pal."
It's been almost two years since you've been back to visit your dad, and apparently a bunch has changed. The Avengers Initiative has grown exponentially, from what you've heard from the old man, so you're no doubt about to meet even more of his enhanced friends.
You've known Bruce for years now, he's basically your godfather, along with Nat and Clint. You're familiar with Rogers, having hung out with him a few times at the tower, and you've had a pick-up line or two thrown at you by his little falcon friend whose name eludes you. Other than them, though, you're pretty out of the loop.
As the numbers on the elevator wall tick by, you grow a bit anxious. What if I have to meet thirty superhumans at once and I make a complete idiot out of myself? Inhaling shakily, you attempt to fix your unruly hair.
"Hey JARV?"
"Yes, Miss Y/N?"
"How many of the uh... Avengers are in the building right now?" You can hear your voice go kind of shrill. Unlike your extrovert of a father, you've never really been one for meeting new people, at least, not a bunch at once.
"Agents Barton and Romanov are in the common room at the moment, and Captain Rogers and Sergeant Barnes are in the kitchen with Mr. Wilson. Dr. Banner is in his laboratory, the Maximoff twins are in the training room, and your father is in Conference Room C."
Nodding and exhaling shakily you breathe out a "thanks" to the AI and try to recall any information you may have learned of the more unfamiliar names. Barnes... that's the Winter guy right? Buddy or Binky or something weird like that. Maximoff... sounds familiar, but I've got no clue.
The elevator finally arrives on the floor for the common room and you step out, looking towards the couches before the television, searching for Clint and Tasha.
"Y/N!" You hear Barton's voice ring out before you even see him, immediately being enveloped in a suffocating embrace. "Why are you so big, how long were you gone?!" Giggling as Clint picks you up and spins you around, you hug him back. He finally puts you down, fussing with your hair and pinching at your cheeks.
"I've barely grown, Tweety, what're you talking about?" You squeal lightly as Clint pokes at your nose and you smack his arm away. "How have you been?"
He opens his mouth to speak but is immediately cut off by your favorite femme fatale. "Move, Barton, I need to hug my niece." Nat bumps Clint aside with her hip and swoops in to hug you. Her hair is a bit shorter and darker than the last time you saw her, no longer in the tight ringlets that you remember her having back when she was your father's "assistant".
