Chapter 2- Dreams

"Good morning.." Reiner said. I opened my eyes wide to see Reiner standing over me. I looked at the clock next to me. 6 A.M. I looked up at him. "Why..are you up so early?" I whispered. "Nothing...just couldn't sleep... one of those nights.." He said, rubbing his face. He was wide awake, most likely a nightmare. He smiled slightly and rubbed my head. "Cmon, wanna watch the sunrise with me?" He said. I agreed, and sat up. I rubbed my eyes roughly, and got up. He pulled me into a hug, and kissed me lightly on the forehead. I dragged my tired body to the small balcony outside our room, where 2 chairs stood. I sat right next to Reiner, and rested my head on his shoulder. His body was so warm, it felt so good since the air outside was a little bit chilly. "Are you cold? Here, let me help." He said, bringing me closer to him, and wrapping his thick arms around my body. "Look.." he said softly, and pointed towards the horizon. It was the sun. A beautiful mix of colours could be seen painted across the sky, and i was there, with him, to see it all. "Isn't this world beautiful?" He whispered softly in my ear. I nodded in agreement. "It is...." I gave him a gentle kiss on his cheek, and looked into the distance. "Y/n...this world is so cruel yet so beautiful...it's astonishing...you can find joy even in the darkest moments.... that is why this moment will be forever cherished..." His eyes shone as he stared into the rising sun, and tears began to swell up in his eyes. I hugged him tighter, and looked back at the sky. A beautiful morning it was.
