He thought he could make his mom proud, but all he got in return is a simple gesture of a pat on the shoulder. He figured that was the only thing she would ever do now a days. Her job as hero kept her from home and slowly but surely, she doesn't even come home at some points. When she did, she would only go to her bedroom and sleep for the entire day. Sometimes, when he was younger, he would stay up just to see his mom. Instead, she would yell at him for staying up.

"Why do you always do this?! Can't you see I'm tired?!" She stared down at him like a hawk. "...I just wanted to see you..." He quietly said. "You can always watch the news to see me!" She remarked. "It isn't the same...I don't want to see the Number 2 Hero! I just want to see my mom's face!" He started to tear up, wiping the tears from his eyes. He ran into his room, locking the door crying himself to sleep. "Izuku! Open up! I'm sorry that I yelled at you!" She banged on the door not knowing it was straining her mother and son relationship with him. "No! Go away! You sometimes never come back home at times! Leaving me to fend for myself...go back to your hero work..."

That was 5 years ago...

And now, we can see a young teenager casually staring out of a window of UA. He didn't wore a smile like the rest of his classmates, he simply sat there and stared outside. He wondered what would've happened if he was given a great childhood, but such as life, everything tends to screw you over when you least expect it. He never bore the last name of Todoroki, rather he bore the last name Midoriya. He hasn't spoken to his real mother in quite sometime. Actually, he didn't even want to communicate with her.

He liked his life right now. Sure he has a few friends and an awesome adoptive couple, Inko and Hisashi. A tidbit was that Inko could never have a baby due to her injury on her lower waist, so when Inko found Izuku, she knew that he held pain in his mind so she adopted him. Hisashi was skeptical at first but soon began to love his adopted son.

"Hey Midoriya. You good there dude?" Kyoka Jirou ruffled his hair. "Un. I'm just a bit bored. What about you?" "Likewise, I was hoping you are free to join me and some of the other girls and guys to a karaoke?" "I would love to, although it sounds like you are asking me out?" He gave her small smile, to which she blushed. "It's not like that! Jeez, baka. Don't say such things that it won't come true." "You are beautiful Jirou-chan. I do not care about your figure, rather I love your eyes." He said unknowingly getting stabbed in the eyes courtesy by Kyoka's earphone jack. "Baka! Stop saying such things! Baka! Baka!"

"Karaoke huh... it's been a hot minute since I've been to one." He walked up to the counter and proceeded to get instructions of where his friends are. Thanking the receptionist, he walked down the long hallway eventually stopping in front of a door with music blasting inside. "Ah! You're here! Come on in!" He was dragged in by a giddy Momo Yaoyorozu. She is popular due to her looks, curves and intelligence. She sat him down next to Kyoka. He took a quick look around seeing some of his classmates. Kirishima, Kaminari, Tokoyami, Ashido, Hagakure and Asui were here as well. "It looks like a party don't you think?" Kyoka voiced out, fiddling with her earjacks. "I suppose so. A ruckus party a matter of fact." "Believe or not, YaoMomo set this whole thing up. I don't know what her intention was by doing all this."

"Perhaps she wanted to loosen up?" He gave a side glanced to the bubbly raven black haired beauty. "Indeed it was! Though I think I overdid it~" She said. "This is overdoing it?" He began to remember the amount of parties his mother had when he was young. He didn't like the feeling. He wanted it gone. Removed. Obliterated even.  It was his own mother who always wanted to surpass the number one hero, when in fact couldn't. When she would drink so much, she would order him around but she never ever hit him once. Was it her own way of 'don't leave me defenseless'? Or was he just a burden to her? His mind ached.

Grabbing a cup of water, he chugged it down. A few hours of chatting and singing made him exhausted. He was now walking back towards his own apartment right next to his adoptive parents. Opening the door, he found someone who he didn't want to face. His real mother.

"Where were you Izuku? I tried searching for years on end just to find you here in an apartment! What happened to your hair?!" She tried to embrace him, keyword, tried. "Don't...hug me. You know why I decided to run away. It was a journey to find where I belong! 5 years! It took you five years to finally find me...I guess I was nothing short of nothing more than burden. This power I wield from you is just the same...I can't even control it!" He lashed out, his power radiating off of him. "Was I born for my power? Is that why you kept me by your side for 10 years? All of those fun times...were they fake too?" He broke down in front of her.

We do not choose to suffer, others with ill intent make us suffer. Do not be brash. Do not wish for harm upon others. Love yourself and each other. We need love more than ever.

Hope is one thing that can never be broken. I'll see you guys and gals next time.
