The training

Everything happens after the events of Shiganshina

I woke up quietly when I heard the sounds of crowds and sniffles in the street; the survey cops had returned. I rushed out of my room while putting on my pants, kissed my mother as I passed by and took a piece of bread from the kitchen before going out into the street to greet them.
As always there was Erwin, who had been a good friend of my mother's for a few years, but every time he came back his expression always said the same thing. Once again we did not succeed. And to see that the crowd wasn't there to congratulate them but just to boo them and overwhelm them made my heart ache.
Until the day we were called to train, a 3 year training to become soldiers capable of protecting humanity. At the introduction ceremony, several personalities stood out; Jean Kirschtein, he was head-butted by the instructor, he seemed to be hot-blooded. There was also Sacha Braus, who offered a piece of his potato to the instructor, a real goulue! There was also a trio, Eren, Mikasa and Armin they seem to be close and to know each other for a long time... There were other young people but to tell the truth I didn't really pay attention to them.
The training was hard and exhausting, but we had to endure it to become soldiers. Months and years went by, and over time we all became more or less friends. In three years we had all grown up, become soldiers capable of protecting humanity, we arrived at the graduation ceremony where we were asked to join the garrison, the survey cops or the special brigades. The instructor then told us that only the first ten would have the privilege of joining the special brigades.
Instructor : 10th Christa, 9th Sacha, 8th Connie, 7th Reiya, 6th Jean, 5th Eren, 4th Annie, 3rd Bertolt, 2nd Reiner and finally 1st Mikasa ! Only the ten I have just mentioned will be able to hope to join the special brigades.
Following this, Erwin arrived and gave a speech ending with a sentence.
Erwin : may those who are not ready to offer their hearts dispose!
At that moment, I saw all my comrades of the 104th brigade leave one after the other except Eren, Mikasa and Armin, then the following ones, Connie, Marco, Jean and Sacha, Reiner and Bertolt, even Christa followed by Ymir. To see all of them here, ready to sacrifice their lives for humanity warmed my heart, only Annie did not stay and went to join the special brigades. We were then sworn in and were able to go to our dormitories. We had made an appointment to meet in Jean and Marco's room to enjoy our last evening.
Reiya : Why did you all decide to enlist in the survey cops? I thought that apart from the three musketeers you all wanted to join the brigades or the garrison !
Jean : Well, when I saw that idiot Eren standing there I thought I should stay and watch him, I think we all had a reason that finally pushed us to join the battalion. Right Ymir ?
She glanced at him blackly without answering him and then we spent the evening laughing and talking about the good old days during training. I woke up after having felt the sunbeams hitting my skin when suddenly I felt a weight on my hips. It was Jean's arm, wrapped around my waist, I was confused at first, but then I remembered that we had spent the evening here and it was so late that we all ended up falling asleep here, and obviously I had fallen asleep in Jean's bed. Turning my head a little around I saw Marco sleeping like a child with Armin next to him, on the floor there was Connie and Sacha sleeping in rather improbable positions, against the wall at the back of the room, Ymir leaning against the wall with Christa asleep on her legs. Everyone was sleeping like children. Only Eren and Mikasa had to go home, as had Annie, Reiner and Bertolt. I thought it was better that I went back to sleep as no one was awake when a long shiver ran down my spine. It was Jean who had once again decided to wake me up with his morning voice.
Jean : Good morning beauty, slept well ? he said as he came to bury his head in my neck, letting me feel the warm breath coming out of his mouth.
Reiya : Jean, you're starting to get heavy waking me up like that, it's not gonna work anymore you know. I said in a whisper so as not to wake the others.
Ymir : Everyone can hear you two, don't bother trying to hide, we already know everything.
Reiya : Not so loud Ymir, you'll wake the others. I said resting my head on the pillow. It's true that since the beginning of the training Jean and I have always been close but it was friendly, we got along really well together.
