He sat his camera up and took a deep breath. Never in a million years did he ever think this would happen. He stared into the camera like it was a person and began talking.
"Hey guys, Matt Hardy here. I'm here to say, first things first, I'm finally getting this divorce finalized. Just a few more things to do. I've waited so long and glad a lot of you pointed out things. Thank you for that. Second thing, Jeff and myself have gotten in contact with someone very special and a lot you know who it might be. I don't want to name names until it's time, but what I'm getting at, is that we agreed to hold a little contest. Whoever wins this contest, will be able to spend a whole month with myself, Jeff, the special someone, and of course, Jeff's wife, Beth. What you all have to do is mail in or email me why you deserve this by February 14th. Once the clock strikes midnight, it's too late. Good luck to you all. Have a good night." With that, Matt turned the camera off and uploaded the video to YouTube.
Kayla rolled over. Her eyes slowly opening. She looked at the time. 3 am. "What the hell?" She rolled to the other side. "Really little dude?" She talked to her growing bump. Kayla was roughly 25 weeks pregnant with her first child. The father ditched her right at the beginning and never came back. She was happy without him. Once returning to her room and to the bed, she looked at her notifications. A video from Matt Hardy was just uploaded a few hours ago. She clicked on it and watched it. "Oh my god. That would be a dream come true." She pondered. 'I can't do it though. What about my brother? Something might happen and I wouldn't get word until I'm home.' She sighed and closed her eyes.
K: Hey are you busy over there?
P: No what's up?
K: can you FaceTime me?Kayla waited a minute before her phone rung. She popped an earbud in her ear and answered. "What's up baby sister?" Adam asked. "Well there's a contest and I don't know what exactly to do about it. I want to enter it but with you overseas, it makes me nervous just in case something happens to you." She watched as her brother huffed. "What about this contest is special to you?" Kayla bit her lip. "Well it's the Hardy Boyzs' contest. They said whoever the winner is gets to spend a whole month with them and a special person. Matt Hardy never mentioned who it was but he said Beth would be there too." Adam looked at his little sister with pleading eyes. "Don't worry about me. I'll be just fine. We'll call each other every day. Please just enter. When is the due date to enter?" Kayla looked at her calendar. It was two days away. "February 14th. Anything that's tuned in past midnight, doesn't count." She said. She sighed. "I'll think about it." She said before they exchanged goodbyes. Ever since Adam got recruited to go overseas for his duties, Kayla has had a sinking feeling in her chest. She was dreading the worst and fearing she'd wake up to a letter her parents mailbox. Adam was the one who got her into wrestling and to think, he's barely able watch any now. For a couple of years of his youth, they thought he wouldn't make it. He had a childhood cancer that was supposed to kill him yet he beat it. Now he's living his dream to fight for his country and what's right. Kayla laid back down on her side and thoughts raced through her head. What was she going to do?
"Kayla please do this. Not for me but for you. It's the 14th and 10 pm at night. You are 22 years old and never been out of the state. I know how dad is and sometimes doing this might be good. Please Kay, if anything, for us. Make memories and send them to me. Send real pictures and not through text." Kayla looked at the time. "Ok Adam, I'll do it." The said their goodbyes and Kayla typed in Matt's email address. It took so long that she lost track of time. She looked at the time right after she sent the email. "12:01. No I'm late." She felt emotions going wild. She knew wasn't going to win now. Even though is was throughly written. This contest was also meant for anyone over the age of 18 which was good. She let some tears slid down her cheeks. She made her way to her bed. Sat down and listened to music. She had to clear her mind.
Matt Hardy had been going through letters and emails. None of the which stood out to him. A bunch of fan girls wanting to do some things to him or talking about his brother and doing the same things to him. "Hey Matt found anybody yet?" The younger man asked. Roughly 33, not too tall but not short either. His black and blonde hair pulled back in a semi ponytail or what he could get. "Not yet Shannon. How about you take a look at these few emails?" He shrugged and sat in the leather couch in the den. None of the emails caught his eye. Except for one. "Hey Matt, what about this one?" Matt took one look and turned it away. "Won't be fair to the others who followed the rules. Delete it." Matt walked away. Shannon skimmed over it and put it in the folder with other possible winners. He closed the laptop right before Matt walked in. Jeff and Beth walked into the house, curiosity on there faces. "Well you found a winner bro?" Jeff asked. "Not yet. I'll look through the possible winners." Matt watched as Shannon walked into the bathroom downstairs. Slowly he walked out. "I'm gonna get going. Rest up before the winner is chosen." He said before quickly leaving. "Somethings up with him." Jeff said. "You think, he's always like this, always will be." Beth said. Beth and Shannon has always been like brother and sister. Fighting and annoying each other. The married couple left Matt to pick a winner. Matt sighed looking through. "I thought I told him no on this one?" He hesitantly clicks on it.
Ok, where exactly do I start. I don't even know if this entry will even make it in time. It's late. I didn't want to enter the contest but my brother did enough persuading. He's overseas at this very moment. Fighting for our country. This was a big dream of his, having a possible opportunity meeting his heros. He's big influence on me watching wrestling and getting into the Hardy Boyz. You and your brother had a unique style. Something nobody had ever seen. It was crazy. I was just little and don't quite understand. My brother though, being 4 years older than me, completely understood. As the years went on, he was diagnosed with a childhood cancer. For two years, he battled it. Doctors giving him days to live only to beat it. Now, he's living one of his major dreams. The other was to become a professional wrestler. Maybe one day he can. This was a sudden thing. I know this would never make the cut. It's now 11:45 as I had sat here pondering on what exactly to say. He told me right before we hung up tonight, do it. Make memories for us. And send actual pictures. Not texts. God now I'm getting emotional. I guess this is it with my entry."
Matt sat there, dumbfounded. He called up Jeff. "Dude, this chick sent in something so different than what I got beforehand." Matt said. "What do you mean?" His younger brother asked. "She didn't goon how she wanted to do this to me or that to me. Or anything like that. She didn't fan girl." Matt paused. "You have to choose her." Jeff proclaimed. "Jeff I can't. She didn't follow the rules." Matt could hear Jeff shift his weight. He was becoming frustrated. "Matt, bro, we don't want a creepy fan girl at your house." Matt agreed with his brother there. He slowly said the words. "I guess you're right. I'll give her a call. Possibly FaceTime her." Jeff sighed with relief. "Alright bro. Good luck."
