Lost In Space || Minchan/Banginho AU

2 years. It's been two years since that interplanetary mission was sent. Till now, there have been no news of what exactly happened to their ship. Some say that it was attacked by aliens and some say it got lost in space. But it's still out there. At least that's what Chan wanted to think, He's been waiting for two years for Minho to come back. He missed him. He missed his cuddles, his kisses and his goofiness. The thought of being away from him was too depressing, but he stayed strong, for those astronauts, for Minho, for himself. 

"Today it marks exactly 2 years since the mission Interstellar was sent and till date, we have no information as to what exactly happened. Right now, we have Mr. Park Jinyoung, the CEO of SKSF (South Korean Space Foundation). So, Mr. Park, what information do you have with you?" The TV news anchor said and the camera faced JYP, sitting on the loveseat. "Well till now we have been trying to contact their ship, but so far it's been a failure-" Lies Chan thought.

He was an astronaut too in SKSF, Comms officer, and he knew that they had stopped trying after a month. He frustratedly switched off the TV and got up from the sofa. "Where are you going? His mother asked from the kitchen. "I'll be back before the storm hits again." He said, voice muffled due to the mask. "Okay dear stay safe!" She called out and Chan went outside. 

He dialed someone. "Hello?" Chan said once the person on the other side picked up. 

"Hey channie! Sup?"

"Can I come over?" 

"Since when did you ask to come over?"

"Since today?"

The person on the other side gasped. "Channie has changed! This calls for a party!" 

"Whatever I'm coming over." Chan said and hung up. He decided against ringing the doorbell once  he reached there, so he just barged into the house. "Hey Bam hyung." Chan said and lazily plopped on the couch. "Okay false alarm, you didn't change." BamBam said, plopping beside him. "Are you planning to stay?" Bambam asked after a few minutes of silence. "No, why?" Chan asked. "The storm can hit anytime now." Bambam said. "Oh well I better call mom." Chan said. "You need to get over him, Chan." Bambam said before Chan could call his mom.

"But I won't. I know he'll come back." Chan said and Bambam raised his eyebrows. "Channie listen-"

"I DON'T WANNA LISTEN!" Chan yelledand stood up, but Bambam was used to it now. "CHAN PLEASE! IT'S BEEN TWO YEARS YOU NEED TO GET A LIFE!" Bambam shouted.

"What life huh? What life?! There is no life possible for me without him! And if you're gonna nag about it too then I better stop coming here!" Chan angrily said and went towards the door. "Chan no wait listen-" But Chan slammed the door shut and ran towards his house. 

On his way, the dusty wind started blowing really hard. "Does it have to be now?!" Chan mumbled and went inside a nearby café. The bell rang when he opened the door, and he took off his mask. He went to the counter and ordered a coffee. "One Americano please." He said and the lady started typing on her computer. "That's 3000₩ sir." She said and Chan paid the required amount.

He was enjoying his coffee when he got a call. "Hello?"

"Comms officer Bang Chan, you need to report to base ASAP."

[A few hours ago, somewhere in the universe]

"CCO Jackson do you read me?" Minho asked through the radio. "Crew Flight Pilot Lee I read you."  Came Jackson's voice over the radio. "Contact base ASAP." Minho said, he looked troubled.

On the other side of the ship, Jackson tried to connect to the base, just like their Pilot said. "Euphoria I to base, come in." He kept repeating every 30 seconds. Suddenly, there the ship started to get unstable. "CFP Lee what's happening?" Jackson asked. "THERE'S A WORM HOLE!" Minho said. "Base to Euphoria I, we read you." The base contacted them.

"There's a wo-" were the last things Jackson was able to tell the base. They lost all connections as the wormhole sucked them in.

Minho woke up from the noise of something falling. He was lucky he did, because he didn't want to see the rest.
He went outside his tent and saw Momo working on something, so he decided to sit beside her. She noticed it and quickly faced him. "Did I disturb your sweet dreams?" She asked and went back to fixing the radio. "No you didn't, and the dreams weren't sweet either." He said and looked at the greenery in front of him, illuminated by the double moonlight.

"Really, what did you see?" Momo asked, not taking her eyes off the radio. "Us getting sucked in by that wormhole." Minho normally said. Momo stopped what she was doing and looked at him. "It's been two years now stop blaming yourself. The guardians even told us it was all a setup! Please Minho I can't see you like this!" She whined. Minho sighed and put his head on her shoulder.

"I miss Chan." He said, completely changing the topic. Momo put her head on his head. "I feel you, I'm missing Jeongyeon too." She said and pouted. "Do you think Chan would've found someone else?" Minho asked the older. "I can't say anything, coz I think Jeongyeon would've found someone else too." Momo said and lifted her head. Minho followed suit. "You still fixing this?" Minho asked, pointing at the radio. "Yeah, this is my 300th try." She said. "Why are you fixing this anyway? The ship's gonna get ready in a few months."

"At first I was fixing this to get help but now I'm fixing it just to pass time. If it get's fixed, I'll tell the base that we're fine and will arrive soon." She said and moved a wire from its place. "All done. Shall we give it a try?" She asked as she held it up in front of Minho.

"Why not?" Minho smiled as she turned on the radio. Surprisingly, it's buttons lit up. "Go on!" Minho Whispered. "Euphoria I to base, this is Crew Engineer Momo speaking, if this message reaches you then we wanted to inform that we're all fine and will possibly return back home in a few months. Over." She said and turned off the device.

"Let's go back to sleep and see what happens." Momo said as she stood up. "You go in I'll be here for a while." He said and Momo nodded. Minho looked up at the sky as a tear ran down his face.

"I miss you, Crispy."
