Not a cloud in the sky, or stars either. The perfect night for the lovers in school. There's a small voice in my head that wishes for a storm to come, but my attire says otherwise.
A stunning two-button beige tuxedo matched with a white shirt under a light blue vest finished by a silky tie at the same color. The girls gawked at my presence. The boys glared me with envy. But they all described me with one word: ravishing.
Truthfully saying, I really do not want to take part in these kinds of events. But my teacher insisted that I should live my junior life to the fullest and try to enjoy the prom. I hated the idea of going through all these formalities, yet why did I attend?
Edward came into my line of vision and welcomed me with a smirk, "Someone's trying to impress the ladies!" I glared to his sheepish grin. "I'm just messing with you, I know that you're only giving efforts to dazzle one lady," he defended after his laugh faded.
I was about to speak out my retort but he cut me short, "Speak of the lucky girl." I looked at the direction of his gaze and there I saw the angel sent to Earth. My lips curled into a smile. "It looks like the devil found his angel and it seems-- Ouch!" I elbowed Edward and walked to the place of my angel.
"Hey! That hurt you know!" I heard him whine just as I walked away with a victorious smile. "She'll never like you if you're that violent!" I just waved in reply.
As I came close to her, my heart started to beat in a crazy way. Wow! She looked absolutely stunning tonight. With the white feathery ball gown she was wearing and princess up-do hair, she can melt my heart with just a glance.
Oh God! How I wished I just wore the white tux my mother has bought for me. We could have been a match. Shite! I would definitely think twice before making decisions.
I've been battling in my brain whether I should take her for a dance or just wait another year. But before I reach my verdict, I was already a few steps away from her. "Well, I guess I'll just wing it."
I pass a horde of girls eyeing me from head to toe with a hint of flirt in their eyes. I would've entertained them if I was a Casanova, but I'm not. I just ignored them and headed to the place of the goddess before me.
As I swiftly come closer to her, she immediately became flustered. Even so, her beauty entranced me like a muse and not even the redness in her cheeks flawed her gorgeousness. As the gap decreases, she slowly bows her head and deliberately avoids looking through my eyes. And when I arrived in front of her, she kept on fidgeting with her dress.
"Good evening, Fraise," I bowed in acknowledgement, "You look stunning as always," I can sense the blood going up her face. "Would you care to waltz through this wonderful night with me?" I extended my hand as an offer for a dance.
She reluctantly accepted my hand and came to face me with her soft eyes. Shite! Those deep sea blue eyes are piercing though my heart. Just frickin' calm down heart! I might turn clumsy because of your nonstop fast beating.
Her eyes met my gaze, "I humbly accept." She gifted me with a warm smile, "You look rather ravishing yourself Leo." Shite! Shite! Shite! I can feel the blood in my face. I can't believe such normal words can make me feel so flustered.
Keep your composure cool Leo! I try to mentally advice myself. "Shall we proceed to the dancefloor now?"
"With pleasure."
I led her to the dancefloor with most care. As we reached the center, I put my hand into her waist and held her tightly. A small blush escaped her cheeks and I avoided her eyes for a second. I then intertwined my hands into hers and locked it tightly like we can never be pulled apart.
