It felt like hours before Tessa was pulled from her thoughts by a pair of polished dress shoes that stopped right in front of her. Inhaling slowly, she tried to calm the immediate jump in her pulse and all the nervous energy that came with it. The silence stretched out, as she felt the man's gaze upon her.

"Petite renard," he breathed quietly, his voice deeper than Louis's, though definitely native French. Tessa wasn't sure if that was supposed to be a compliment or not. She'd never been called little fox before. "Come."

Then he was walking away, so Tessa scrambled to her feet to follow. She couldn't chance a peek at him when all of the guests were now roaming about, claiming the subs they'd bid on, or just socializing if they hadn't bid at all. Was their mysterious host or hostess among them? Tessa didn't find that fleeting curiosity intriguing enough to distract her. She was far too anxious over her new, temporary Dom. Sir Felix led her back up to the main floor then took the grand staircase to their right. The hallway they traversed seemed to be set up just like a luxury hotel, with doors leading to rooms on either side. She didn't know what it meant that he led her to the set of double doors at the very end.

Opening one, he waited for her to cross the threshold before closing it quietly behind them. Tessa could tell that the room was very open and airy, with a lot of natural light. The rays of the setting sun cast everything in a faint pinkish glow. Though the teak flooring was still prevalent, she could see giant area rugs in strategic places even within her limited range of sight.

"Please, look around. Familiarize yourself with the room," Sir Felix spoke from behind her, where he'd remained.

Lifting her head, Tessa drank in the enormous space that was very masculine and clean with dark woods and white linens. All of the artwork and framed photographs were black and white; world maps in sepia hues as if they were ancient. There was a full sitting area to the right. To the left was what could only be described as the play area. A spanking bench stood in front of the wall of windows overlooking the tropical foliage and cerulean waters beyond. She could see the roof peaks of lower parts of the house, or perhaps even separate structures. A balcony ran half the length of the room, wide enough to house a table and chairs, potted flowers, and plants. Between the play area and French doors leading out to that balcony was a large bed that stood on a platform and had no foot-board, even though wooden posts rose from the corners about five to six feet high, just as the headboard boasted. There were several metal rings at varying heights on all four posts.

Across from her was an office space, complete with laptop, printer, and blotter—anything one might need to get a little business done in between the flogging and fucking. There were doors on either side of the wall behind the desk. She assumed they led to a closet and en-suite bath.

Out of habit, Tessa immediately dropped her gaze the moment Sir Felix stepped into her peripheral vision. It happened so quickly, like a reflex, that she scarcely got the impression he might be wearing a tuxedo. A heartbeat later, his fingertips were under her chin, prompting her face upward. Tessa held her breath, as she slowly lifted her eyes, only to find the very handsome, light-eyed, dark-haired man she'd seen in the audience. Her pulse skittered out of control. He was even more attractive there in the full exposure of natural lighting. The rays of pink and orange were not yet dark enough to snuff out the last bit of illuminating yellow.

His hair was not as dark as she'd thought, more of a medium brown, cut short and feathered across his forehead slightly. One of his blue eyes looked slightly lighter than the other, but perhaps that was just the way the sunlight was coming in almost directly behind him. His mouth; that was what drew one's attention. It looked dangerously skilled. Especially when it slowly slid into a knowing smile that had her blushing.
