LOUD

"He's so fucking loud! It's driving me crazy!" Paul ranted to his long-time bestfriend, Danny, over the phone.

Someone new had just moved into the apartment above Paul's and it seemed like the guy owned every kind of loud instrument known to man. Electric guitars, drum kits, frggin' amplifiers the size of Paul's refrigerator; name it and this guy had it.

Paul wasn't one to complain. He himself owned a couple of electric guitars, but he always made sure to be mindful enough to turn down the amps whenever he and Danny felt like playing.

"Dude, calm down," Danny said, "I'm sure the guy'll understand if you asked him to tone it down a bit."

"I don't think you understand just how annoying it is to be woken up at four-freaking-am by the likes of AC/DC," Paul retorted, seemingly annoyed at Danny's calm response.

Danny sighed. "At least talk to the guy before you go ballistic."

"Whatever man, I'll do whatever it takes," Paul said. As the sound of Back in Black got louder, Paul physically cringed. "Fucking hell, I'm gonna go. Bye."

"By-" Ending the call before Danny could say anything else, Paul grabbed his hoodie and marched up to the source of the deafening music.

He knocked on the door heatedly and when the owner of 221B didn't seem to hear him, Paul started banging on the white mahogany with his fist.

The music died down and Paul felt adrenaline pump in his veins. He didn't like to pick fights with strangers but the last week for him had been hell and he didn't really have it in him to care anymore.

The knob began to turn and Paul expected to find a large man with a moustache and a killer beard standing behind the door but instead found himslef staring down at a pair of crazy blue eyes.

Shit.

The 'dude' was actually a girl. And a very cute girl at that. She had a mess of hair that seemed to differ in colors of black, dark brown, light brown and red. Her hair contrasted to her pale skin which wasn't as flawless as a model's but had cute little imperfections. And her eyes- it gave him chills. They were so blue, they almost seemed violet.

And that was when Paul realised he had been staring at the girl for almost two minutes. Her face was scrunched up in a way that said "Why is this guy staring at me?"

"H-hi um, I-I wa-was wondering i-if y-you cou-could tu-turn it dow-n a-a bit?" Paul gulped. All the adrenaline from three minutes ago was gone and had been replaced by the Paul that made an ass out of himself whenever placed in front of a cute girl.

"Sure," the girl said as she shoved her hands into the pockets of her grey sweatpants. "Sorry for the noise- I'm auditioning for this band and I really really want to get in because my dad told me that I wouldn't make it as a lead guitarist and he wants me to take over the family business and all and I jus-," she rambled awkwardly until

"Hey, it's alright," Paul cut her off, smiling. Woah. A coherent sentence. Maybe because the cute girl actually wasn't a bitch unlike the rest of the girls he'd met recently. And what was that? It was deifinitely not alright! C'mon Paul! Chew her out! She deserves it!

"Well, I'm gonna go now. Sorry again," blue eyes said, offering Paul a small smile before closing the door.

"Wai-." Thud, the door shut.

Paul groaned. It looked like he was going to have to deal with his loud and surprisingly hot neighbor afterall.
