Kenma and Kuroo were walking home together after practice one day in the park when a thought bubbled its way to the surface of Kenma's mind. He looked over at Kuroo who was in the process of seeing how many digits of Pi he could write on his arm.
"Hey... Kuroo?"
Kuroo looked over at his best friend.
"Hm? What's up Kyanma?" Kenma smiled slightly at the nickname Kuroo had given him when they were kids.
"Um... so you know how you and Daishou-san are married right?"
Kuroo raised an eyebrow at the strange question
"Yea? Why, is something wrong?" Kenma shook his head.
"No no, nothing like that... I just remembered something you said once..."
Kuroo locked his fingers together behind his head.
"Well, what did I say?"
Kenma hid behind his hair slightly.
"When you two weren't together, you mentioned that you had a history with him..."
Kuroo shifted uncomfortably as they slowed their pace, Kuroo's legs slightly buckling under his own weight.
"Well, I did say that didn't I, heh? I suppose I can tell you the story if you really wanna know."
Kenma paused his game, to Kuroo's surprise, and listened intently. Kuroo chuckled.
"Well, I guess it started back in my first year..."

"Daishouuuuuu, hurry up! We're gonna miss it!"Kuroo shouted happily at his best friend. He grabbed the other boy's hand and kept running to the park. It was movie night at the local park, the staff was playing old-school horror movies to celebrate Halloween, a holiday in which the two boys loved. Daishou smiled as they sat down near the back on a hill, (they had asked Kenma if he wanted to come but he politely declined to play the new game he got).
The two had known each other since forever, they did everything together not long before Kuroo met Kenma back in middle school. Kuroo had met him at an abandoned park he often played in. He never expected there to be someone else there, but they hit it off immediately. Kuroo never had the greatest home life, he came from a relatively low-income family with parents that were rarely home, but Daishou was his escape. Daishou came from a rather wealthy household with kind parents that treated Kuroo as their own, and Kuroo was his excuse to run wild. Kuroo was forever grateful that Daishou was by his side, despite that they argued constantly.
Daishou sat in Kuroo's lap as they watched the old movies. Daishou had bought them popcorn and drinks, to which Kuroo was thankful. They laughed at the bad acting and special effects for hours before it was time to head home. The two walked down their street before Kuroo spoke up.
"Hey Suguru, can I sleep at your house again? My parents are home tonight and their loud mouths get annoying fast."
Daishou looks back at the messy-haired boy before nodding his head.
"Mom, I'm home! I brought Kuroo!" Daishou announced upon entering the house.
Daishou's mother walked into the room wearing an apron and a warm smile.
"Well hello, Kuroo dear! I assume you are staying the night again, yes?"
Kuroo smiles back and nods.
Daishou impatiently grabs Kuroo's hand and pulls him upstairs.
