One thing I'll say is this isn't actually the first time I've written a series where Harry as a twin sister, but it is the first time I've uploaded it on a site like Wattpad.
During the summer before 7th grade, I had this composition notebook, and I wrote a Potter Twins series in it, but it was in a script format (kind of like The Cursed Child). Now that I'm thinking about it, that's probably where I got the inspiration from.
I guess something good did come out of The Cursed Child.
Anyways, there were a few differences between that series and the one I'm working on now. Harry's sister was in Gryffindor, side characters like Nat and Drason didn't exist, and most importantly, James and Lily remained dead.
I spent the entire first half of my 7th grade year writing this little series in all these composition notebooks.
I actually took them on vacation with me when my family and I went to Orlando Studios. My mom kept thinking I was doing homework!
Unfortunately, I lost the notebooks when me and my family moved to a new house a little over a year after this photo was taken.
I'm not exactly sure when I started The Potter Twins series as it is now, but I'm pretty sure it was around March-May of 2019.
At that time, I still wasn't posting anything on Wattpad, but typing it all on Google Docs.
I think I got to about chapter 5 or 6 before suddenly thinking, "Hey, some people might like reading this. I should post it."
Yes, the idea of posting the story on Wattpad was basically a whim.
I still write everything on Google Docs. That's where I proofread, make sure there's nothing unexplained that shouldn't be, and sometimes even judge the length of the chapter I'm writing.
Usually, my chapters can go up to about 5-8 pages on Docs. But, there was one instance where I just wanted to keep writing and not stop the chapter, and by the time I checked to see how long it was, I realized I had written 16 pages. I didn't cut it down, so that's why Chapter Nine of Book Two is probably pretty lengthy.
When I started the new series, there was one big (and pretty realistic) sentence I kept saying in my head: "Twins don't do everything together, and these twins won't be an exception."
That's one of the main reasons Lex is a Slytherin. It's partly because I myself am a Slytherin in real life, but also because I wanted to emphasize the true difference between her and Harry.
I mainly kept James and Lily alive in this story because I have seen so many head-canons where Harry grew up with his parents, learned how to play Quidditch at a young age, and his Uncle Sirius and Uncle Remus visited almost everyday. I wanted to go into more detail on how it would play out, so I kept them alive in my series.
I do have a confession to make. In my story, Lex and Harry have a shared ability of Legilimens, which allows them to communicate with each other through their own thoughts.
I did not originally come up with this idea.
While I was writing my old series, I was also reading a Potter Twins story on Wattpad by an extremely talented author (in my opinion) called bookworm332000.
In her series, the twins had Legilimens and used it to communicate with each other telepathically. I thought it was a great way to somewhat foreshadow what would eventually happen to Harry when Voldemort starts trying to invade his mind, so I included it in my series as well.
I strongly recommend you go and read some of her content. It gave me so much inspiration to write and do what I do, and it could probably help some of you as well.
Whenever I'm writing this series, I'm always imagining Lex's character as Rowan Blanchard. I grew up watching Girl Meets World, and she both looks and suits the part for me.
I have changed the cover now, but this is what the old one looked like:
It's pretty badly photoshopped when you see it up close, and that's mainly why I changed it.
Okay, I've gotten a lot of comments about how I "replaced" Draco with Theo Nott in my story. I'll make some things a little clearer for you.
I am fully aware of the fan base that exists for Theo, and I myself like him as a character. But, because he wasn't mentioned that much and wasn't really needed for any important storyline, he seemed like the best replacement for Draco.
I think that's all I've got to reveal off the top of my head! I didn't really show any images that much mainly because at this point I was mainly just winging it and not really following any specific plan, but if there's anything else from The Potter Twins: Book One that you have questions about or some things I didn't include, let me know in the comments!
I won't be posting anything for Book Two until it has been finished, so it'll probably be a little while, but hang in there!
Stay safe and healthy!
I Love You 3000!!!❤️❤️❤️
