A/N: This story will follow the original plot of the Harry Potter series later on in the book but won't be exactly like it. Just some terms in the book are:

(y/l/n)-your last name
(y/b/h)- your beauxbatons house
This is also set a year before Harry goes to Hogwarts

"HufflePuff!" The sorting hat bellowed the final student into their house as claps echoed throughout the hall.
Watching all the students be sorted into their houses had been quite fun. Minerva had to fill me in on the houses as I had been to Beauxbatons Academy in (y/b/h).
"We are to welcome this year a new member of staff filling in for Professor Flitwick as the new Charms Professor, Professor y/l/n as well as the new head of Ravenclaw. I hope you welcome her warmly"
I stand with a smile, a slight red tint on my face waving slightly as the students clapped.
Sitting down in between Professor McGonagall as well as Professor Snape as Albus continued his speech.
"Thank you Minerva" I say flashing a quick smile.
"It's my pleasure (y/n). I'm sure you'll be fine here" she returns the smile before turning her attention towards Albus.
She had been the one to recommend me to Albus as the new charms teacher. Frankly I hadn't expected to get the job and probably wouldn't have without her recommendation.
I turn towards the dark-haired man besides me.
He hadn't said an word since I came and while Dumbeldore had been telling his speech I had noticed his quite melancholy clapping.
"Hello, I'm (y/n)" I greet him extending my arm, his eyes divert from the plate to me raising an eye-brow.
"I heard" he muttered "hello" he added sharply casting his eyes downward.
"So how long have you been teaching?" I ask trying to keep the conversation going.
He raised an eyebrow, glancing up at me with a cold stare, returning to his thoughts.
I turn back to Minerva, talking to her. As the students began dispersing from the Great Hall, Hagrid had flashed me a smile from the table. I had gotten lost on the way there, much to my luck I had found Hagrid who managed to help me find my way back to the Great Hall.
"(y/n) I hope everything was fine" Minerva smiled escorting me to my chamber.
"Everything was fine, thank you Minerva" I grinned standing outside of my chamber.
She gave a quick smile before returning to her normal stern demeanour as a couple of Hufflepuffs passed by heading towards their dormitory.
"Goodnight (y/n)" she gave a heartedly smile before walking off.
