This is a strange school that would make Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters look like a circus clown in horse pants. Dexter thought. Dad was right, but he missed something: Maralyte High is a school that is intergalactically, educationally, and weirdly competent! He chuckled at the thought.
"What you laughing at, Dex?" Mr. Washburn asked as they got out of the car.
"Oh nothing, Dad," Dexter lied. "Just remembered something funny."
They kept on walking until they were in front of the green enormous gate.
"Well," said Mr. Washburn. "This must be it."
On the gate, strange golden symbols were engraved. They looked like jumbled lines and shapes arranged in the strangest pattern man has ever known. But it resembles a word in the human language: Welcome. Only thing is, it's too scrambled for the two of them to read.
"Don't know what it says," Mr. Washburn said, touching the glowing glyphs. "But it sure is inviting. They sure really outdo themselves when it comes to enrolments."
"Oh, we sure do." said a voice from behind them.
The Washburns turned to see a man in a business suit. He had a scarf around his neck, and his tie had a repetition of lines and shapes. "Good morning, dear sirs." He stifled a bow.
"Excuse me," Mr. Washburn said. "Uh, is this the school, sir? Sure looks like an encampment of war to me."
"Of course it is." the man said, walking toward the gate. "We'll need to open it."
He fished out a golden glove from his pocket and wore it. He spoke out loud: "Grhemma zuffaus oifaunus!" and banged the gate thrice with the glove hand.
"Just give it time." he said, looking so pleased with himself.
Suddenly, the gate rumbled open.
"Come inside, sir!" the man shouted, and walked off into the school-slash-World War 2 ruin.
"Well, guess we better follow." Mr. Washburn said, feeling so astonished. "Come along, Dex."
The ruined disguise had worn off. The whole place was now gleaming gold, like a sacred temple. Dorian columns lined the hallway, and on the left side, five closed windows were standing there.
They found the man in a small compartment inserting a USB through a port in the wall (of course there was a USB hole in the wall, if you'd ask). A microphone rose from the compartment table which was positioned against an open window.
"Tamu Massif Hexaghous." the man spoke into the mic.
Dexter figured it was just purely plain nonsense, but upon the word's command, the whole hall transformed. Hidden panels inside the walls flipped to show analog wall clocks, counters, and even signs. The five windows opened themselves, and the lights went on as five robots moved into view.
