Nicholas' POV
I grinned when I felt the familiar feeling seeing this cafeteria.
Me and Javy used to have fun here when we were kids.
Being the son of the owner, Javy has all the rights to play around.
I was just lucky that his family treats me as their son as well.
When my parents passed away in a plane crash, they took me in and fed me as their own.
I have grown to love them like my parents and siblings.
I am an only child so it meant a lot to me to have someone to lean on.
"Hello Auntie!" I greeted Auntie Mely whose beefsteak has always been my favorite.
Auntie Mely's eyes widened in surprise.
She was busy serving foods to the customers but stopped when she saw me.
"Is that really you, Nicko!" Nanay Mely exclaimed and I smiled widely at her and nodded. "Annie! Take charge of all their orders! I'll just talk to someone!" She shouted to her companion and winked at me.
She didn't waste time and hugged me tight.
"I missed you and your playfulness!! You're just in time! I cooker your favorite beefsteak! Just sit in there and I'll get your food. Are you here to see Javy? That man is too busy!" She continued without stopping.I had to stifle my giggle not to offend her.
I immediately found a table near their area.
Minutes before she serve me the food, I saw a woman who seemed to be in despair.
Her shoulders were dropping and her face was forlorn.
But it cannot hide the fact that she is certainly beautiful.
Despite the hospital gown, I saw how long her eyelashes were and how smooth her skin feels like.
What I noticed was her sad eyes. She also seemed pale.
She was holding her tummy as if she was in deep pain.
Her beautiful face creased when she screamed.
When Aunt Mely placed the dish on my table, I did not notice her because I was quick to catch the woman.
I caught her in my arms before she fell to the ground.
She was completely passed out.
"Oh, Nicko! Miss Claudine?" Came Javy's voice.
Javy stared at us and I almost yelled at him in panic.
"She passed out! Get her a room!" I exclaimed and looked at her helpless form.
I don't know what got into me when I picked a strand of hair away from her face.
"Move away, Nicko. The nurses will lift her up and send her back to her room. I'll just check on her." Javy said casting me a confused glance and followed his nurses as they laid her on a stretcher to her room in the hospital.
I did not know that we got everyone's attention when Nanay Mely told them to mind their own business.
I just stared at Javy until they were out of my sight and I drew a deep breath.
I returned to my seat and sipped on the hot soup.
"Are you alright, Nicko? Do you know her?" Nanay Mely looked at me, her eyes full of concern.
"Ah.. She-she's a friend." That was all I could say.
My heart suddenly beat fast remembering her look.
It has been a while since I felt this way.

Claudine's POV
I was still in trance when I left my room as soon as Jessy took off today.
She said she still has things to take care of at our work.
I understood her and let her go.
I do no want anyone in my family to know.
I just texted mama and papa that we have to stay in for a couple of days in our boss' place for an important project.
Gladly, they have no further objections and let me off their hook.
My feet led me to the first floor of the hospital.
Holding my dextrose stand in my right, I clutched my tummy consciously.
I felt a stinging but tolerable pain so I decided to ignore it.
I continued walking until I reached what I think is their cafeteria.
I was invited by the aroma of their soup and dishes and my stomach growled in reply.
Obviously, I'm hungry.
Yes. I am.
Then, I remembered I did not have my wallet not phone with me.
I was about to turn around to return to my room to get my wallet when another jolting pain hit my tummy.
It was too much to take in.
I have to bend like a fetus to manage my pain but ended up passing out.
I am expecting to fell hard to the ground when I felt strong comforting arms caught me just in time.
I was too weak to respond.
Too weak to move a muscle.
Too weak to even open my eyes.
That's when I knew that I finally blacked out.
I woke up again in my room with Dr. Javy staring at me, his hands across his chest.
Beside him was an attractive man probably, in his late twenties, looking intently at me.
"What did I tell you, Miss Claudine? I told you to rest, didn't I?" Dr. Javy said sternly.
"I have no plans to rot in here, Doc. I also need fresh air. It still didn't sink to me that I will be dying soon." I said bluntly.
All my hope and faith crashed when I heard it straight from him.
"I understand how you feel. But you should also take into consideration that you must help yourself to. Don't put yourself down. Learn to dance with it. Who knows there might be a miracle?" Dr. Javy sighed and pointed out.
I laughed at his words. The guy beside him has his forehead creased at me probably in amusement and fascination was written across his face.
"Maybe a miracle is all I need to be well, Doc. You're right! Big check!" I laughed and soon, I was wiping tears from my face.
I did not anymore know what was happening.
All I know was I am already crying.
Sobbing my heart out.
"I just want to be happy! I only wanted to spend longer time with my parents and nephews!" I wept. "But why is this happening? Why me? I don't have a baby yet! I don't even have a boyfriend! I don't want to die a virgin!" I wailed like crazy.
The guy approached me and hugged me as if comforting me.
My heart started pounding as I cried and bent my head to his broad shoulders.
Gosh! What is he doing to me! I think I might even have a heart attack!
