                      (Lucas's POV)

I looked around and there was still no sight of nothing so I decided to keep following the black trail. There was many more trails but this one trail caught my attention because it looked like it had been walked over and over again. Later I stopped by a house made of logs. It wasn't that big but it was good for shelter. I walked in asking if anyone was home. I heard no one and thought that it was abandoned and sat on a couch made from deer skin. Everything that was made from an animal, now dead, had a black spot on it. It made me feel suspicious and nervous about the place. "Excuse me...." I heard a familiar voice speak gently in the air. I turned around to find the girl I had met in the field. She was dragging the buffalo by it's leg. "You caught it? All by yourself?" I asked in a surprised way. "Mhm" she responded. Looking at her just holding it and by that she also cought it by hand made me feel weak. I could never catch a buffalo by hand.

I noticed the black spot on the buffalo where she was holding it. "What's the black stuff?" "Uhh... Oil?" "Oh why don't you ever go wash your hands off?" "Because it will never come off" every question that was asked was getting a simple answer, like as if she was trying to not get too much into what I was trying to talk about. "Oh I guess I should leave now, I didn't know that this is your house. Sorry about that." I turned around and was fixing to open the door when her voice stoped me. "You can stay, want me to fix you something to eat?" She asked softly. I couldn't say no to that voice. So I said yes and sat back down on the couch.

I watched as she cut through the flesh of the big buffalo and cut of two big chunks. "How do you like your meat?" She asked. "Medium rare please." I asked politely.

            (Mara's POV)

I cooked the meat the way Lucas said for I to be. I taught myself on how to cook and other stuff like that. I did well on it when I was finished. I cooked my piece of meat and I put the plates down on the table. He gotten up from the couch and sat down next to me. "Thank you." He said. "No problem" I said back blushing. We started digging into our food and finished quickly. When he was done he left while I cleaned the dishes. I wonder where he lived. It started raining outside and I got ready for bed and laid down in bed drifting off to sleep with the calming sound of the rain.
