Grade school was when we were just strangers, we know that we existed but only because we're the best friend of our best friend's crush.
Highschool was the second time we met and the first time we talked, you befriended me because I looked like a people pleaser and you wanted someone who can't say no to being your cheat mate in a math quiz.
You were a jerk for doing that but I accepted it anyway cause I also needed some help. Maybe I was the same as you as well.
But now that we're meeting again as adults...
Napakapit ako ng mahigpit sa shoulder bag ko at napatingin sa fried chicken place na lagi naming pinupuntahan magbabarkada noong highschool pa.
Gabi na kaya malamig ang hanging sumasapak sa mukha ko ngayon.
Are we still going to be the same?
Nakita ako ni Annica kaya kumaway ako, medyo marami na silang nasa loob, dumating na rin kaya siya?
Dahil sa nangyari noong summer,
Last year of high school...
Are we still going to treat each other as enemies?
Or will it be better to just go back as being strangers and stay that way?
But why?
Why did it turn out this way?
Naglakad na ko palapit sa entrance and just as I was about to reach the doorknob ay may nakasabay ako sa pag abot nito.
I looked at the hand and noticed a familiar bracelet that made me turn to see his face quickly.
Our eyes met but I didn't get any surprised reaction from him at all, he was just neutral.
It's as if we're strangers once again,
As if we really did have a closure that time,
We didn't though,
I still didn't get any answers as to why,
Why he didn't cross the line that time.
