Drift

Chapter 1

I walked as quietly as I could around my sister Callie's sleeping profile. I seriously almost fell to my death by tripping over boxes. I sat directly next to her, leaning right next to her face. Man does she snore.

"AAAAAAAHHHHH!" I Screamed.

She awoke with a startled expression and sat straight up.

"Oh my god Anika!!!"

I nearly doubled over from laughing.
"The look... on your... face..." I said between laughs. She promptly glared at me and got up from her sleeping bag on the floor.

"Is there a reason you woke me up?" She asked.

"Tsk tsk. Can't it be out of sisterly love?"

"When walruses fly."

"So mean, sister dearest. We need to go school shopping, remember?"

"Why on earth would I take you after that?"

"Because you love me."

"Fiiiiiiine," she exhaled. I grinned at her and got up to go get ready to go.

We were in my sister's slug bug in 45 minutes, driving to the mall. We had just moved to Ridgeway, and they had only one mall. Of course we chose to go to hot topic first.

After going to about five shops, we retired to the food court. Callie got us a table, and I went to go get pizza for the both of us.

While standing in line, I felt someone bump against to me on accident. I turned away with my eyes wide.

"Uh- sorry," a boy around my age said nonchalantly. He had dark brown, layered type boy hair. If you know who Joe sugg is, he had that exact haircut, except a darker shade of brown. His eyes were a mesmerizing dark blue.

"Might want to watch were your going," I said sharply.

"Might want to watch the attitude barbie," he replied rudely.

I was going to reply with a rude comeback, when it was my turn to order. I promptly glared at him one last time before turning to order.

Walking back to the table, Callie eyed our food hungrily. She grabbed her piece of pizza once I set it down, and shoved it to her mouth.

"Hungry much?" I asked sarcastically.

"Shut up. I took you shopping, and I'm starving," she replied.

"Jesus Christ Callie people are starting to stare! Try not to choke," I said laughing and taking a bite of my own pizza.

She glared at me, and pointed a finger my way. She said something along the lines of "shut the hell up," but I could hardly tell with her mouth full. I blew a kiss at her, acting as annoying little sisters should.

After getting home from the mall, we both passed out on our sleeping bags. Hence just moving here, our mattresses had yet to show up with the moving trucks. Yay.

I woke up to an annoying alarm, and I had my first day of school today. I got up and lightly kicked Callie to wake her up, she responded by covered her head with a pillow.

I showered, blow dried my hair and then curled it. I wouldn't usually do this, but I wanted to look decent for my first day.

I chose a pair of new black high waisted shorts, and a dark red see through, button up shirt (a black tank top was under) that folded right after my elbows. It had a little pocket on the chest, with studs. I threw on my all black converse to finish off my clothes.

I wore my natural everyday makeup, nude matte lip, foundation, light eyeliner, and mascara.

I returned to the living room and kicked my sister again, whom still had not gotten up.

"Callie!!! I need you to drive me to school," I said.

She glared at me, and got up to make coffee. I had thirty minutes until I had to be to school, so I sat and ate breakfast with her.

We left twenty minutes later, and I arrived to school with ten minutes until class. I headed to the office for my schedule, were a frazzled office lady led me to my first class, algebra.

The teacher, Mr. Sych, announced my arrival to the class, and gave me my seat. I sat down at a table meant for partners, but my partner ceased to be there.

Halfway through class, the door of the classroom was thrown open, but I was too busy with my math problems to notice. I only realized that someone had come in when the seat next to mine was scooted, and sat in by none other than the annoying boy from the mall.

"Hey there barbie," He said sliding into the seat next to my own.
