so i asked my friend to read the book and she asked me a LOT of questions, which made me wonder if other readers had the same question as her. so i thought of making a chapter that explains all of it.
and also the female lead is not given a name here because this is written in first person point of view. i thought of keeping the name anonymous because why not ? ;)
okay so here is the explanation !!
the female lead had a friend, named jeon jungkook, who was really close to her. the female lead had a pretty messed up background which made her "a prisoner of her dark thoughts" and jungkook helped her by being with her.
(and also, the female lead liked jungkook platonically. she was a lesbian who got a girl in the end. but you can use your imagination and think her as bisexual who loved jungkook if you want to.)
even if jungkook helped the female lead to be happy, he himself wasn't. this case actually happens a lot, even with me. we try out best to make others feel better while we would get ourselves get engulfed into the darkness. so here, jungkook had a similar case. but he doesn't open up to the female lead because that would burden her.
(ps i was thinking of writing an extra chapter with jungkook's pov. should i do it or should i just leave this as it is?)
towards the end, jungkook gave up and took his life. this also gave the female lead the lesson that "people around you shouldn't be the only reason for you to live on. you should also live on because you chose to live and thrive." so she finally collected herself and moved on to a better future.
in the end, the female lead came back to jungkook's grave after two years. this shows that "maybe you are living a better life than you had yesterday, but yesterday was the reason why you are living a better life today." she chose to move on but she was still greatful of jungkook because he was the reason why she turned out to live a better tomorrow.
