"Where were you all this time?"I calmly ask but he seemed hesitant to answer.
"Where were you!!" I shout in rage as fresh new tears pour from my eyes. "How could you leave me, leave us in the hands of that crazy woman?"
"I am sorry" He simply says while looking down, with no expression in his face
"I don't want your apologies, I want an explanation!" I demand
"I am a very powerful man and back then I had everything a man could ask for but now, I'm just left with the money."
Two men in the library are casually sitting in the lavish leather couches and drinking scotch and whiskey.
"One of them is my dream woman- smart, sexy, funny and works in my company and I can see a real future with her. But the other one is my high school girlfriend and no matter what I do, I can't seem to resist her; I can go months without speaking to her but then she'll text me and I'll fall straight back into old habits. Is this a sign she's really the one for me or should I cut ties for good and focus on building my empire?" Virgo asks as he takes a gulp of the wiskey
Isiah, a sexologist, business partner and his best friend proceeds to give him, his straight-talking advice.
"Fernanda my high school girlfriend-She looks as though a siren, in the form of the most beautiful girl on earth. Cerulean eyes so crystal clear that you could see rivers, oceans, the world through them. Chestnut brown hair, radiant and shining, swishing with every word she speaks. No goddess could compare with her beauty. She has the body of a dancer, lithe and beautiful. With every step she took, it looked as though she were floating, but with a heart similar to mine-we have more things in common. Whilst Samantha, her hair was a rich shade of mahogany, it flowed in waves to adorn her glowing, porcelain-like skin. Her eyes, framed by long lashes, were a bright, emerald-green- through her eyes the world seemed brighter. A straight nose, full lips - she seemed the picture of perfection. Had she smiled, the world would sigh with contentment. Had she laughed, the world would laugh with her, and had she wept, the whole world would want to comfort her. She is different...she makes me want to be better"
He suggests that his description of reigniting romance every few months with his high school girlfriend as like "falling back into old habits" is a warning sign.
"What are the reasons you two haven't been able to work it out? How is it that you can go months without talking to each other?" the expert asks as he lights a cigar.
Virgo says nothing but shruggs.
"Fernanda is too untrustworthy and vindictive" He says while frouning upon memory lane.
Isiah also points out that he seems "on the fence" about his "dream" woman too.
"What are your deeper fears about pursuing this?" He questions.
" You know how our lives are Isiah, I don't want to risk bringing an innocent soul into my world"
The sexologist advises: "What did you learn about relationships growing up? What did you see modelled? Notice if there are any themes or similarities between what you saw and your current relationships."
"Why?"
"They may also explain why you're having difficulty making a decision between these women."Isiah says as he raises a glass to his friend.
As they toast and gulp down more alcohol, Isiah could only hope he made the right choice in the end...
In a few months Virgo decided to take a leap of faith and chose happiness.
Virgo wanted to give her the world ,and he did until one day his light was snuffed out by the very women he rejected. Leaving him with their one month year old daughter, he felt as if the world had him on his knees, so he secretly gave her up for adoption- to free her from his world and the burden of inheriting all his enemies.
Present
"Your lying!"
He looks at me with confusion as he claims he is not
"I made sure to give you to a trust worthy family, The Price's were very humble people and I had complete trust in them to raise you well. But to my surprise you seem to have been raised by my ex"
"Your, ex?"
"Yes fernanada, the same women that killed your real mother "
Shocked by the news,my hands start trembling ,my back hits against the wall as I cup my face in my hands while sobbing. My father moves close to me and starts rubbing my back.
"Fernand-a? Is that her re-al na-me?"I ask while stuttering
He nods in aggrement.
"She told me that our father left when we were little and my brother..."I start to drift off in thought. If what he is telling me is true, that would mean Baron knew and had been lying to me as well about my origins-my heart aches with the thought.
"I still don't know how she stole you from the original family I put you with, but enough of that -whats important is that your safe"
"My father's last name was Price..."
"I will have my men look into it" He says while helping me get up
"For now you need to clean up and get some rest" He starts. leading me out of the library but I forcefully halt.
"Before I leave, I want to know something"I say with a cold voice.
"Anything"
"Who killed my brother?"
"They were members from an organisation called The Mob, owned by the Peers family"
"Peers? as in..."
"Yes,the same family. That is how I found your wearabouts, a hit was ordered on you by Bertha Peers."
My feels heart numb, but blood boiling and mind seething in rage.
"Those men outside, can I also give them orders?"
"What is mine is now yours, but heed my warning- if you continue down this path, it will not end well for you Elena" He advices while putting his hand on my shoulder.
"I don't have time to worry if it's right or wrong, you can't hope for a horror story with a happy ending" I coldly say as I shrug off his hand and walk away.
