Third person POV

After a few hours of working out, Dmitri gulped down some water and sat to relax. He scrolled through social media, sat on his couch in front of his large glass sliding door that over looked the garden and neighboring houses. It was peaceful and calm, perfect for him to relax after a hard schedule. As he scrolled his day seemed to get even better as he received a call from his boyfriend, a cute photo of him appeared with his name, followed by a few hearts. He slid the green button across his screen to answer. A smile came across his lips as he spoke.

"Hi baby, I was just thinking about-" he stopped when he heard the quiet sniffles on the other end. "Harper? what's going on are you ok?"

"Y-yeah, I'm okay just calling to say I love y-you" he heard the stutter in his voice and knew something was wrong.

"Did your father hurt you again- if that's what happened I'll come get you-"

"NO...no it's ok. I'm fine, I love you okay. I love you so much Dmitri. You've been a great boyfriend to me"

"What do you mean 'have' been?" his heart sunk as he made the realization. "Harper-?"

"I love you Dmitri" he could hear the sadness in his voice.

"Harper! Harper no!" he hung up and Dmitri stood fast in a panic.

He quickly called his friend Alex, Harper's brother. It rung with no answer three times and in frustration he tossed his phone onto the couch, rushing to the kitchen for his keys. His hand slapped onto the islands surface but hit only air. He cursed to himself, he could've sworn they were there. He did not need these kind of set backs he had no idea how much time he had. His heart beat out of his chest, faster than it ever had before. The intense fear he felt in that moment was unlike anything he'd ever felt. He couldn't, no he wouldn't lose Harper. He loved him too much to let this happen. He near tore apart his house in search of those damn keys, running around, determined. He found them on his bedside, grabbing them and racing to his front door. He threw it open and then closed behind him. he unlocked his car, hurrying in and immediately driving off forgetting his seat-belt. it didn't matter. He couldn't afford even the smallest delay. He pushed the limits of his car, breaking a few laws in the process but he didn't care. he wouldn't stop for anything nor anyone. But no matter how fast he went it felt like he was going slow, too slow. His heart beat for every second and dread filled his mind. Would he make it? Would Harper be okay? would he get there in time? Why, why did this have to happen. He bit back his fear, his hands trembling, sweat on his forehead as he parked, tires screeching to a halt.

He nearly fell out of the car, pulling himself up. Adrenaline surged through him with every moment. He ran to the front of his house. He hadn't notice the tears that bubbled up at the corners of his eyes, sliding down his cheeks as he pounded on the door, shouting for Harper. His father answered and Dmitri pushed past him, ignoring his angry shouts. It didn't matter, nothing did only Harper. Running up the stairs he believed he could make it, he hoped he could but he was pulled back by a strong hand, gripping his hood. His mind screamed no in protest, filled with rage at the obstacle. His fist swung behind him colliding with the mans jaw. he stumbled back with a hiss of pain. Dmitri continued. He reached Harper's door, grabbing the hand and finding it locked.

"Nononono- Harper!?" he threw his body against the hard wood door, over and over.

His shoulder ached with each thud until he burst through, stumbling into the room. he felt the cool breeze from the open door of his boyfriends balcony. He stepped forward to it, Harper was there, standing. Drops of blood dripping from his writs.

"Harper...?" he watched him turn around, tears streaming down his tan cheeks. "Harper please" he begged as they stared at each other.

"D-Dmitri-" he sobbed, it was so tempting to run into his arms but such a comfort could only be temporary. He held so much pain and just wanted to let go.

"Let me help you please Harper"

"What if you can't help me..everyday is just worse than before, I can't take it anymore..."

"Then we'll change it together- I promise just please-" he pleaded.

"How- what can we do that'll make anything change" He'd never had anyone love him like Dmitri did.

"I'll take you away from here, come live with me where he can't hurt you anymore, I'll keep you safe just don't go, I love you"

"But I-" Dmitri cut him off, knowing what he was going to say.

"You are not a burden, you will never be. I want to help you please" he held his hand out to him.

He would do anything to help him, anything he ever needed. He waited for a response desperate to pull him close, to help him and take him away from the place that caused him so much pain. After a moment of though he felt Harper's hand on his own. He guided him away from the ledge and embraced him. He could feel how much his small body was shaking and it broke his heart. He didn't dare let go as he gathered what he needed to patch him up. He gently cleaned the blood, relieved that the cuts weren't too severe. He'd hate to put him through the trouble of a hospital again. Even so he still wrapped them up in a bandage, kissing them lightly and holding him in his arms. His heart became at ease. Once they had calmed down a little. He removed the blood stained hoody and gave him his own. It was a tad too big, the sleeves drooped and it sat below his hips, it was cute. The scent of Dmitri was slightly calming. He picked Harper up in arms, carrying him like a bride as he took him outside to his car.

"I'll be right here with you" he sat him in the passenger seat, putting on his seat-belt before getting in at the drivers side.

He put on his own with a relaxed sigh before looking at his boyfriend, safe and alive. He'd gotten there in time and that's all he could of asked for. He drove them back home, this time at a more relaxed pace. He drove up to his home parking and getting out of the car. He took Harper out again, holding him once more. He was able now to take the time to lock up the car and the front door. He took him up to his room, laying him down. Harper grabbed his wrist.

"Stay Dmitri" his eyes were puffy from crying. Dmitri smiled and wiped his wet cheeks.

He lay down on the bed next to him, letting Harper come to him, hugging his arms around him. He kissed his head, feeling him close was the biggest comfort. Relief relaxed every part of him as he sunk into the softness of the moment. Harper nuzzled into his chest as he always did, more relaxed and safe.

"I will never you, I love you more than anything"
