You were at your grandmas house when this all started. It was on the news and then they were at your door. Your grandma didn't want to go she said if she dies she dies. You weren't scared of the things outside just about your grandma. Your mom was a drug addict and your dad was dead because of a drunk driver. So you were always at grandmas house, she gave you food and her shotgun and clothes and more food. "Rue, Sweetie you gotta be strong and you have to take your brother and your sister" my grandma said. I was now worried but I didn't show it because I was good at that and I took care of them good when my mom was messed up. Julie and Jacob are twins and there 5 years old and I'm just 8 years old but I was doing a good job for an 8 year old. She gave me the shot gun and I put it under my arm and grabbed my siblings hands. I knew how to shoot a gun since I was 5 because of my uncle, he always told me I was a natural and I should be a cop when I'm older, but look at the world now.. I opened the door and ran out with them I told my grandma I love her and then she was backing up into the house and those things were following her. I took Julie and put her on my back and held Jacobs hand tightly and walked into town. My grandmas house wasn't that far away from downtown Atlanta. We were walking past body's on the ground at this hospital and there was a lot of them. Then the door opened and a guy was walking out. I froze because he wasn't like those things he was a real person. "Hello.." I said kinda quietly. "Hey what's your name?" He said walking closer. My grandma always told me not to talk to strangers but I think I can trust him and he has a hospital gown on anyway. "My name is rue and this is Julie and Jacob." I say pointing at my siblings. "I'm Rick grimes, what happened?" He asked me and I couldn't answer so i shook my head. "Where's your mom?" He asked bending down, "She gone, and my grandma is gone to I don't know where to go." I say. "Well If you want you can help me find my family and I'll help you." Rick says. "Yes that would be great." I say. We start walking to his old house and we pass a bike and a thing next to the bike. He gets on the bike and I follow him running behind him. We get to his house, "sissy I'm hungry", "me too" Julie and Jacob say. I sit them down on the step and Rick comes out and he isn't looking so good and passes out while I'm getting the food out of my backpack. I shake him and I guy comes up and grabs Rick with his son. "Hey what are you doing" I say grabbing Rick. "He's hurt and you are all probably hungry and I don't know who you are. What are you doing out here." He says "we are looking for ricks family." I say, "well it's not safe out here come inside." He said grabbing Rick. "Okay.." I said.
