Shoyo Hinata sat in the uncomfortable chair in the waiting room. The building reeked of sanitizer and illness. Shoyo wouldn't say illness had a distinct smell, but he knew that a lot of sick people were here. Some with broken limbs, mental illnesses, and life-threatening diseases.

Shoyo hates hospitals, nothing good comes from them, for the most part, that is. Today, on the other hand, was supposed to be a very exciting day. He would finally know what secondary gender he would present today. He comes from a very long line of omegas with a few alphas here and there. Shoyo assumed that he wouldn't be any different than the rest of his family, he was smaller, not as strong, and definitely didn't look intimidating at all.

Shoyo's mom was pacing back in forth not too far away from her son, she was on the phone with Shoyo's father, who was trying his best to make it there before his son went to get the test done. It was a simple blood test, they also gave a shot to have him start releasing his scent.

His mom came back to her son and sat next to him. "He'll be here soon, I think he'll make it, he just left Natsu at the babysitters and should be here in a few minutes."

The small ginger just nodded, he had told himself he wouldn't let himself get this nervous. He was 99% sure he was an omega, but there was that lingering 1% that had him thinking if he actually was a beta, or perhaps even an alpha.

After a couple of minutes, Hinata pulled out his phone to see many texts from the team. A lot of them were pretty generic, for example, "Are you at the doctor's yet?" "What's your secondary gender?"

Hinata, although he appreciated his friend's concern, was getting tired of all the messages and messaged the group chat telling them all to stop worrying and that he'll let them know as soon as he can.

As soon as he put his phone down, he heard a door open and saw his dad panting in the doorway. "Dad, you made it!" He ran over to his father and jumped into his arms. "I was so nervous that you weren't going to make it in time!"

His dad chuckled, "I know buddy, but I wouldn't have missed this for the world, no matter what secondary gender you are, we will support you." Hinata looked up at his dad, "Even if I'm an omega?"

"Even if your an Alpha, it really doesn't matter to me, I have a strong feeling that you might be an alpha though, I mean c'mon you look just like me!" "My alpha genes probably passed onto you" His dad set him back down and puffed out his chest a little bit, "If he's an alpha I just hope he doesn't act all cocky like you do." Hinata's mother pitched in, "I may just be a beta, but every once in a while, its almost like I can smell your pharamones whenever your pissed off enough"

Hinata's dad put on a "sad" face and dramatically sighed. "And after everything we've been through, you still treat me like this"

Hinata laughed as his dad lightened the mood in the waiting room, people that were feeling uneasy seemed to forget their problems, even for just a minute or two, the room seemed to relax.

"Shoyo Hinata?" A nurse popped her head from the door frame, "It's time to figure your secondary gender, and I'm going to ask for you to come alone as well, just standard procedure." Hinata slowly nodded his head and walked over to the nurse.

"No need to be nervous, I'll just be taking a sample of your blood and send it to the lab, after I check your vitals of course." She stated matter-of-factly. He sat down onto the chair and fiddled with his hands. He honestly was scared, he had heard all the bad things and how many precautions omegas go through to just live typical lives. Noya said it isn't as bed as everyone says it is, but he has his own protection kit that he carries around.

He remembers reading about heats, ruts, and knotting in health class and it seemed the only "easy" way out of that was being a beta. Beta genes usually can't overpower alpha genes, so the more he thought about it, the more Hinata thought he could be an alpha.
