It had been nine days since Hope had been attacked, her body lay still in the medical wing. Every day after lessons, Neville would sit next to her, explaining their lectures from the day and attempting to do his homework. Harry would come by after dinner and just talk for hours until Poppy shooed him back to the Gryffindor Tower before curfew.
Neville was sitting next to Hope, his herbology book sprawled across his lap while he read the next chapter aloud. Harry stumbled into the medical wing, smiling apologetically at Neville.
"You're early today, Harry," Neville remarked, packing up his books and standing up from the seat, "Sirius was here when I arrived but he had some interview to get to so you've missed him today. I'll come back later, enjoy your time."
Harry sighed as Neville scrambled out of the room, he'd been trying to get closer to Neville but the boy seemed terrified of him.
"Hi, Eliana-Hope," Harry started with a soft voice, sitting next to the girl and placing a soft kiss on her hand, "I've got detention with Lockhart today so that will be so much fun. His lessons are so boring without you there to call him out."

Two weeks later and Harry was next to Hope's bed, watching with a small smile while Poppy did her daily checks. "How is she today?"
"She's doing good, Harry," Poppy responded, "her cores getting stronger and a lot of the internal damage is on the mend. It's just a matter of her core fully healing, her weight going up, and then her body flushing out the effects of the snake venom."
Harry smiled, turning to Hope with shiny eyes, "hear that, beautiful, Madam Pomfrey says you're doing really well." Poppy watched the boy for a moment with a soft smile before leaving him to some privacy.
"We won our first Quidditch game. Wood's got a fifth year to fill your spot but it's not the same. We play Slytherin next week and I wish you were there to play with us."

"So I'm being chased by a house-elf called Dobby," Harry started explaining. It was the middle of the night and he'd slipped out of his bed in the medical wing to sit next to Hope and explain everything. "He set a bludger on me, broke my arm, Lockhart thought he knew what to do, and now I have no bone in my arm."
"Mrs. Norris got petrified and Filch thinks it's me. There was some weird message about a chamber in the school, I don't know what to do," Harry let out a small maniacal laugh, rubbing his eyes harshly, "Colin was brought in and he's been petrified too."
"Ron thinks it's Draco so we've been working on a potion to disguise us as Crabbe and Goyle. Hopefully, we'll be able to work out what the chamber is and how to stop everything. Everything will be fine I'm sure of it.
"I could really do with your help right now, Eliana-Hope. You'd know what was happening and how to solve it," Harry let out a deep sigh, billowing his head on his arms and closing his eyes.

It was the middle of December and Neville was curled up in the chair next to Hope, reading a Transfiguration book when Sirius walked in. "Hey Uncle Sirius," he called out, smiling brightly, "how's it going with Remus?"
"It's alright, squirt. We talked, apologised a lot, and drank some fire whiskey," Sirius laughed, "so we're on the mend, not perfect, but when she wakes up we'll be an actual family."
"I really miss her, Uncle Sirius," Neville choked out, his throat thick with tears, "I don't have any friends other than Ellie. It's really lonely without her. Professor Snape keeps attacking me in potions because she's not there to help me."
