There was one week until school started back up again. I couldn't wait, I was about to start high school. Usually I wouldn't be that excited about school, but for some random reason, I am! Maybe it's because I want to see Maybelle so much. I met Maybelle last year. She was just transferring from Oklahoma. I was just transferring too but from California, we bumped into each other in the hallway and that is how we met. End of story. Well, Maybelle is coming over today so we can get ready for high school. Things like clothes, and what our first impression is going to be like. I couldn't wait, I haven't seen her all summer. Except one time when I saw her in the mall, but that was it. I was up in my room reading "Gone With the Wind". Me and Maybelle had decided to make a deal stating that whoever can finish "Gone With the Wind" first over summer break would be paid forty dollars by the other person. Maybelle finished the book last week, but the book was getting really good so I decided just to keep on reading. My mom was downstairs doing the laundry and cleaning the house for Maybelle at the same time. "Mom! What time is Maybelle coming over again?", I asked. "Jo, sweetie, how many times are you going to ask that question? Three, and that is the last time I am going to tell you." she said. "What time is it now?", I asked. "One thirty!", my mom yelled. "Oh, ok thanks", I said as shut the cover of my book. I opened the door and shuffled across the hall to my brother Carlson's room. "Carl, clean up your room, Maybelle's coming in a couple of hours", I told him. "You don't think I heard", he said back. "You know you and mom scream really loudly, just saying", he said. I rolled my eyes. "Just clean up your room," I said as I just the door. I walked back across the hall. I didn't have to clean my room like Carl did because my room was always clean. My family calls me a clean freak, but I wouldn't exactly call my self that. I just like my things organized and neat.
