I walk into the kitchen to see both of my parents sitting there with their hands conjoined and I know I'm about to receive another lecture. I can't help my sigh as I grab an apple. I'm starting to regret my decision to not spend another night at Titus's house. He figured since I had already stayed the whole weekend that I should stay Sunday night too. I should've listened.

"We need to talk Beckham" my mother says softly tucking a strand of blond hair behind her ear.

"Sit down" my father says. I take my seat across from them. "Do you not want to be Alpha Beckham?"

I look at him like he's stupid, "what?"

"Do you want to be Alpha? You're going around slipping at training and staying out all hours of the night like you don't care for this pack."

"I didn't say that."

"You didn't have to your actions speak volumes."

I sigh, "of course I want to be Alpha, I just have a lot going on right now with school and football. That's it Dad."

"But honey you've been spending a lot of time with Myra. You only come home to sleep if that" my mother says sadly.

"I get that you're young with urges son, but you have to focus" my dad adds.

I eye them wondering if I'm ready to tell them the truth. How would they react to the news? "Myra and I broke up a while ago and I found my mate."

My mother smiles brightly while my father raises an eyebrow. "Oh honey that's great news. I can't wait to meet her."

"Wonderful son, a strong Alpha needs a strong Luna" he nods in approval.

"She isn't a werewolf dad, she's a vampire."

"That doesn't matter, invite her over to dinner" my mother says getting up to fix me a plate.

"Well now Cindy, it does matter. A vampire leading a pack is very uncommon."

I shake my head at my mother, "I'm not hungry and it's a little too soon for that Ma. We're still figuring things out."

"Well it must be going well if you are spending the night with her. Why didn't you tell us?"

"She's a vampire, I'm adjusting and figuring our mateship out first. It's important to us that we're on the same page without involving family or friends into it." I shrug.

She nods, "I understand, I'm happy for you honey."

I give her a small smile, "thanks Ma. I gotta go."

I toss my apple core into the trash before walking out the house. I didn't technically lie to them and I never said my mate was a female. They assumed that on their own and I just chose not to correct them. At least this way they won't be down my throat about where I am or what I'm doing as long as I keep up with my Alpha duties. Honestly, I think Titus has gotten use to me being around all the time. Trying to leave yesterday was a hassle and a half. I wonder if he really cancelled with Ms. Williams today.

I pull into the parking lot only to see Titus getting out of his car too. I get out still looking at him. As if he feels my stare, he glances at me with his bright smile sending a wink before walking into the building. The buzz of my phone has me pulling it out my pocket to see a text from him.

Ty👨🏾‍🏫: Missed you last night. I'm thinking punishment.

I can't help but to roll my eyes. I stayed the whole weekend and had to have a talk with my parents about my absence. Fuck off.
