The rain hit softly on the cars sealing making small pitter patter noises that where soothing to listen too. I stare outside the widow of the back seat of a taxi i was riding in, watching as the rain rolls down the windows wondering which droplet would make it to the bottom of the window first.

I was headed back home, away from the college i had been going too for the last 2 years. Though it was a great learning experience i decided it was time to finally take a break and go home back to my family.

Soon enough the taxi stopped infrastructure of a very familiar house, it wasn't the biggest but not the smallest either. From the white walls to the dark blue shutters and trim i already felt at home for once in a long time as the taxi man helped grab my luggage out of the trunck.
I helped and then payed the driver along with a tip for the help before walking up to the door.

I take a deep breath before ringing the door bell and waiting for a response. A familiar voice calls out a "I'll get it!" And then the door opens revealing a tall blonde boy with headphones on and a mogul moves hoodie on. He stands in pure shock

"Y/N!?!?" The boy says

I smile in response and shrugs

"Yeah, its me" I say softly before he pulls me inside

"Well dont just stand in the rain!"

I giggle and drag my bags inside with me. Just as expected Tommy hadn't changed, he's still as loud as ever and not the best at greeting people.

I heard another voice from around the corner leading into the kitchen

"Tommy who was it-" My mom started before seeing me and almost instantly running over to give me a huge hug ignoring the fact i was dripping with rain water.

"What are you doing here??" She asked after letting me go

"Well I was thinking that it was time to take a bit of a break from college and its been way too long since I've seen you guys!" I say smiling

Mom smiles obviously glad I'm back "Well welcome back, go ahead and make yourself at home. I'm making dinner, I'll call you two when its done" she said

"Thanks mom, i love you. Also dont worry ill be getting my own apartment soo-" she cut me off with a "shh" sound and putting a finger up to my lips

"You are always welcome here and you don't need to rent an apartment, thats a waist of money anyways" i know if my mom offers something she doesn't actually mean it as an offer, but more of a do, so of course i had to stay.

"Thanks mom, I'm gonna take my stuff up to my room then, love you"

"Okay, be sure to change out of your wet clothes as well!"

I smile as i head upstairs with my stuff with Tommy who decided to help bring my stuff upstairs. I open the door and looked around, nothing had changed from the last time I had been home. Everything still in place along with the pc setup in the corner that I used to stream on.
Tommy sat my stuff down by my door

"I'm gonna head on to my room down the hall if you need me" he said before leaving the room and closing the door behind him.

I begin to get changed into a pair of sweat pants and a T-shirt and some black socks, throwing my wet clothes into a laundry basket. After that i begin taking your extra clothes out of my suitcase and putting them up. Next with some other items that I had picked up from college that I sat on the night stand.

Once done with putting all my stuff away I went back down to the kitchen where mom prepared dinner. I stood beside my mom and looked over her shoulder. She was pretty short compared to me.

"Whatcha cooking?" I asked with a smile

She jumped slightly not knowing I was there and giggle. "Im making pasta"
(I spelt pasta wrong so many times its upsetting)

"It smells good" I successfully sneak a bite of it when my mom turns away to grab some other ingredients to put in the meal. I step back as if nothing happens and just smiles at her when she looks over at me

She laughs and smiles "Your just like you where when you where younger, you always had to take a bite of food when no one was looking" she laughed

I chuckle a little bit "Who would I be if I didn't?" You say happily

"Can you head upstairs for me and grab your brother and tell him that food is done?" She asks as she walks over to the cabinet to grab plates

I nod and make my way upstairs to Tommy's room. I heard people talking through the door so me being the great sibling that I am walked my way on through to see Tommy sitting at his pc on call with someone. They seemed to be arguing over something, all I knew is that Tommy was saying
"Ohh my goddd wilbur is StUpID" and someone repeatedly saying "I like the coral, I like the coral" in a mocking tone then some else who seemed to be stuck in the middle of it just laughing at the both of them.

As concerned as I was I went on with my journey to tell Tommy to come down stairs and eat. I tapped his shoulder and earned a jump from the annoyed boy.

"Sorry to interrupt your whining over whatever your talking about but mom said dinners ready" I said and he gave me a simple nod. He went back to talking to the other people on discord as I walked out of his room hearing a slight voice saying "who was that?"

Ayyy 1006 words, not to shabby for the first chapter am I right? I think it turned out pretty nice and if you guys have any recommendations for future events feel free to share them cause I need ideas.. please
