In the chilly cave shelter, where ice covered the walls and the dragons rested, Nathaniel sat quietly, observing Marc as he diligently wrote on his paper. The sound of scratching pencils filled the air, accompanied by the occasional sighs and frustrated mutters. Nathaniel couldn't help but be captivated by Marc's intense focus, his mind lost in the words he was weaving.
As a melody drifted into Nathaniel's thoughts, he couldn't resist the urge to express his joy. He started softly whistling to the tune of "For the Dancing and Dreaming," a song from How to Train Your Dragon 2. Marc's ears perked up at the familiar melody, causing him to pause his writing for a moment.
Kim, lounging on his dragon's back, sensed the change in the atmosphere and spoke up, "Ooh, I love this one." Alix, Marinette, Adrien, and their friends, accompanied by their majestic dragons, turned their attention toward Nathaniel and Marc. Their eyes filled with curiosity and anticipation.
Embracing the moment, Nathaniel took a step closer to Marc, gently placing his hand on top of Marc's and carefully setting down his pencil. The cave fell silent as Nathaniel's enchanting voice filled the air, carrying the lyrics of the song.
"I'll swim and sail on savage seas, with ne'er a fear of drowning. And gladly ride the waves of life, if you will marry me," Nathaniel sang, his gaze unwavering as he locked eyes with Marc. Marc couldn't help but be drawn to the tender intensity in Nathaniel's expression, though he tried his best not to meet his gaze directly.
"No scorching sun nor freezing cold. Will-" Nathaniel's serenade was abruptly interrupted by Kim's uncontrollable excitement as he stood from his seat and burst out, "Stop me on my journey-" The interruption startled Marc, causing him to quickly avert his gaze. Kim, realizing his mistake, sank back into his seat, his voice filled with remorse as he apologized, "Sorry."
Kim smiled and chuckled nervously as Alix glanced at him, her disappointment evident. Nathaniel felt a twinge of irritation but quickly composed himself, sighing and resuming his singing. He reached out, taking Marc's hand and placing it gently over his chest, intertwining their fingers.
"And you promise me to your heart. And... Love," Nathaniel sang, his voice filled with longing. He couldn't help but notice the silence from Marc, a pang of sadness seeping into his heart. Nathaniel sighed, turning his head and starting to walk away, a mix of disappointment and resignation in his eyes.
But just as he was about to leave, Nathaniel heard it—Marc's voice joining in, singing the song. Happiness lit up Nathaniel's face as he turned to look at Marc. The two of them danced around, their voices blending harmoniously, and their smiles illuminating the cave.
Kim couldn't contain his excitement, grabbing Alix and swirling her around in his arms. They danced in joyful circles, laughter escaping their lips. The rhythm and melody accelerated, pushing them to sing and dance faster and faster until they reached the grand finale of the song.
"Meeeeeeeee!!! I'm still goiiiiiiiiiing!!" Kim belted out the final line, causing the night furies named Coal and Rainbow, Nathaniel and Marc's dragon companions to cover their ears with their claws, thoroughly displeased by the sound. Alix playfully hit Kim on the arm with her elbow, an amused smile on her face. "I'm done," he proclaimed, finally bringing an end to his exuberant display.
Laughter filled the cave shelter as their friends applauded and cheered, reveling in the happiness and love that filled the air. Nathaniel couldn't contain his elation, wrapping his arms around Marc in a warm embrace, his heart overflowing with gratitude for the love they shared.
