Silence

Tap, tap, tap, tap.
Then a brief moment of silence before it started up again.
Tap, tap, tap, tap.
Each and every tap started to become louder, like a clock ticking in suspense.
Tap, tap, tap, tap.
And suddenly it stopped.
Absolute silence was the only thing left.
Nothing was left to say.
Not one word could be forced out of your mouth as you stared in horror, the blood on your body that could almost be mistaken for paint, the tears streaming down your face both of joy and of pain, and the thing you hated most was finally gone. The thing that had brought you 13 years of pain, trauma, tears, wounds, and scars. Finally gone.
