My head begins to pound heavily as my tired eyes pry open. I roll over and my body collapses weakly onto hard pile of muscle beside me. Yawning silently, I place my hand on the firm chest and attempt to get comfy but fail rolling back over to the softness of a pillow.

"Morning Ronnie," my boyfriend Ryan beams.

"Morning," I groan, my head still violently pulsing from a late night of drawing. "When did you get here?" I ask Ryan after waking up a little.

"I went for a run round the block and came here after and your mom let me in," Ryan replies, taking my hand in his, "I hope that's not a problem," he adds.

"No not at all," I half smile, propping myself up against the headboard and attempting to brush through my dark tangled hair with my fingers. I turn to Ryan who's currently in running clothes and perched on the side of my bed smiling sweetly at me. His mousey hair is still perfect, despite looking slightly tired from his run.

He brushes his slim thumb against the back of my hand, "You should get ready," Ryan says standing from the bed before gently pecking me on my forehead, "We have a long drive to Pennsylvania," Ryan sighs.

"Yeah, I'll quickly get ready." I get out of the warmth and rush to make my bed and quickly tidy whatever isn't in boxes.

"I'll let you get ready," Ryan smiles before closing the door behind him.

After Ryan leaves I rush to bathroom to shower. I turn the water on before stepping into the steamy water. Rolling my shoulders back I sigh, allowing my muscles to relax in the warm water. Quickly, I proceed to wash my hair and body making sure im ready for the journey from New Jersey.

Once out of the shower, I grab a pair of yoga pants and an oversized dark green hoodie that always makes me feel comfortable . I tie my white converse before tying my long dark blow dried hair into a mid-ponytail. I apply the last of my mascara to my lashes surrounding my hazel eyes and rush to sling the last of the bags over my shoulder.

I walk down the stairs to see Ryan and my mom talking with coffees in their hands. "Morning Veronica," my mum smiles in her thick Filipino accent, walking over to give me a short hug, "Feels like just yesterday I was taking you to your first day of kindergarten, now you're all grown up," she sighs, rubbing over my upper arm.

I sit besides Ryan and he places his hand on mine giving me a happy smile. I turn to my petite mum who's walking around the kitchen frantically, "Have you seen my keys dear," my mother sighs her dark slim eyes frowning.

"I think I saw them on the side," I say as I munch into an apple.

"Oh yes. Got them," she announces grabbing them from the counter. "Anyway we should get going. We don't want to be late for your first day."
