I giggle to the fact that, I think, Thanya and Liam were going to have a romantic moment, and that I ruined it. They seemed stunned when I walked in through the door, and jumped a bit. "I hope I didn' t interrupt anything.... heh" I said. Liam looked at Thanya and smiled. "Oh no, don't worry. Didnt interuppt anything ducky!" Ducky, I thought. Then it hit me. Someone told me that ducky is a guys way of saying, in America, dude, or in the ghetto, my nigga. I simply giggled. Liam looked down at his watch. "Oh, look at the time! I need to be heading home! Nice to meet you Tiffany, and I had such a wonderful time with you Thanya!" He smiled and shook my hand, then he gave Thanya a kiss in the cheek. Thanya blushed and said thank you. Liam seemed to blush too, then left, closing the door softly. Thanya and I stood there in silence for a bit. We both seemed to be lost in our thoughts. All the sudden my dad yelled from the dining room. We looked at eachother confused, and sat down in the table.

For those confused, for me and Thanya, it's pretty awkward sitting down with my dad at the dinner table, to have a simple dinner. Ever since the "insedent" my dad is barley home. He works alot to provide for us, or what I like to say, "what's left." Usually, a fancy dinner for me and Thanya is sitting on the counter and eating something that is not pre made. So sitting with my dad at the table, with actually food, is pretty fancy. We sat down, and my dad everything all pretty. Tall wine-glasses, forks, spoons, and knifes on the sides. Red cloth napkins folded in triangles inside the glasses. It seemed pretty fancy.

Dad served us soda in the wine glasses. We ate salad and chicken, it tasted and looked better than it sounds. "So girls, how was your day? Make any new friends?" I smiled. "Oh yes! It was a really great day for the both of us. I met a boy named Liam. He was really sweet." Thanya spoke. I just continued to eat. I really didn't find this fancy dinner very helpful for me. "Uhm, dad, i had a pretty good day. I met this guy. Harry. He lives right across the street. You should meet him someday. Or talk to his mom Anne."

"That's great for the both of you," he said. "But, erm, Tiff, you know I don't really, uh, socialize with women, after what, uh happened." I could feel the pain in his voice. He loved the family. He loved my mother. I closed my eyes, and I got flash backs. The car spinning, me holding on to Deborah (my little sister), hearing Diana (Thanya's sister) and my aunt scream. But worst of all, waking up in the hospital, alone. Without anybody. Alone.

A tear streamed down my face, I excused myself and ran up the stairs. "Tiffany! Come back!" My dad yelled. I locked myself in the room. I hated when this happened. I really just changed every time those memories came to me. All the sudden I heard a faint knock on the door.

"Who is it?" I said. "It's me, Thanya. Can I come in?" I unlocked the door. Thanya came in and gave me a hug, she was also sobbing. She looked at me. "Tiff, I know what will make you feel better," I gave her a small, faint, smile. "How bout I tell you what happened between me and Liam?"
