For You

The rain sounded like small pebbles falling from the sky to put it lightly. The storm was growing worse by the minute with the occasional boom and clap of thunder and lightning. Every now and then, it was enough to startle me. But it was still beautiful.

The grey colored sky and the water droplets dripping off the edge of the roof were the perfect combination in creating beauty. They were also the perfect combination in creating perfect cuddle weather.

I had been sitting on the couch, resting my head in my hands and leaning over the back, staring out the window at the gloomy weather before me...It was considered gloomy anyway. I didn't mind it. It gave me an excuse to cuddle with my special someone...

As if on cue, I felt strong hands on my hips and thumbs turning in circles on my hip bones. The man's chin rested on my shoulder and he sat on his knees on the couch right behind me.

"Watcha doin~?" He asked in my ear in the cutest sing-song voice I had ever heard.

I smiled and turned my head, kissing his nose, "Watchin' the rain...What are you doin'? Being a creeper?"

I enjoyed teasing him just as he enjoyed teasing me. It was a vicious cycle of pranks and jokes and teasing...But the day always ended in love, and that's what mattered.

"if by creeper, you mean the man who loves you most and wants to cuddle and hug you then yes. I'm being the biggest creeper ever!"

I giggled at his silliness while he moved to the side of the couch, sitting on his behind instead of on his knees. I looked at him, at his cheesy smirk, and laid on top of him, wrapping my arms around his waist. He placed his hands on my back and kissed my forehead, "You're so cute."

I blushed and  buried my face in his chest. I always loved when he complimented me but it always left me so flustered. Even now, after we've been together for a couple years, he still manages to turn my pale skin to bright cherry red in an instant.

He laughs at me and runs his fingers through my hair, "You know you're not helping your case, right?"

I nod, hiding my red face, "Who said I wanted to?"

He laughed again and placed his hand on my chin, turning my head to face him, "I love you."

I smiled back at him, "I love you too~."

He leaned forward, and I moved forward as well, knowing exactly what he wanted.

But the storm had other plans.

A crackle of thunder sounded throughout the house, making us both jump and fall off the couch. However, we were still holding onto each other tightly. After the thunder stopped, we both looked at each other with weird, messed up hair and laughed, sharing a quick peck of the lips.

"Go get changed," he says, standing and holding his hand out to help me up, "With the way the weather worked out, there is no way today won't be perfect."

I accept his hand, standing and pecking his nose before running off to change into my pajamas: a white tank and hot pink shorts. It was rainy, but it wasn't cold.

I go into the bedroom just as David is leaning over and starting a fire in the fireplace.

How did I end up so lucky?

I quietly go up to him and snake my arms around his waist, almost startling him. He finishes starting the fire, places the stoker down on the fireplace, and turns around to hug me back.

"Ready for the best movie night ever?" He asks. I nod and immediately rush over to the dark brown cabinets on the side of the room. Upon opening the doors, a vast collection of Disney movies appears, and anyone who didn't know me would feel overwhelmed with such options. But David understood, and usually playfully rolled his eyes at my obsessions. He never judged me for such useless things.

I pull out a couple of my favorites, including Lady and The Tramp, Cinderella, and a few others, and lay out a pile on the bed. He comes up to see what I've brought out, even though he knows what to expect, and I ask, "Which one first?"

He shrugs and pets my head, "You know which one's my favorite."

I nod, "But that doesn't mean you wanna watch it every single time~."

He shakes his head, "It does for you. Why doesn't it for me?"

I blush and pick out his favorite, "Lady and The Tramp it is then."

He laughs, changes into his pajamas, and lights a few candles about the room while I slide the VHS tape into the movie player. I slide into bed and under the covers just as he looks over. Taking advantage of his attention, I lift up the covers on his side of the bed and pat his spot, motioning for him to sit.

Not wasting a single moment, he sets down the lighter and rushes over, jumping and landing into bed right as another crackle of thunder booms. I giggle at him and cuddle up next to him as he grabs the remote and plays the movie. We don't bother skipping through the previews. They're like good memories of when the actual movie came out.

We watch through the movie, holding each other, placing occasional kisses on each other's faces. But eventually, right near the end of the movie, the storm picked up. Thunder boomed and lightning struck. We couldn't hear a thing. The volume was turned almost all the way up.

Finally, the thunder sounded, and the power went out. If we hadn't lit the candles or the fireplace, we'd have been in complete darkness. Not only that, but it made the mood that more romantic.

After the TV shut down, I looked up at him right as he gazed down at me. I shrugged with a smile. He laughed and sunk down in the covers, pulling me with him.

"Let's just lay here a while...Please?" He asks. I nod and tighten my arms around him. The sound of the rain had increased only slightly, but just the perfect amount. It sounded as though there were a thousand tiny drums being hit rhythmically across the roof in such a way as so to cause complete peace and serenity.

We laid in silence for a while, cuddling, basking in each other's warmth. I'm sure that if we could, both of us would just stay here forever. It was pure bliss...

I suddenly let out a yawn and felt heavy weights on my eyelids.

He smiled and kisses my cheek, "I love you so much, Summer."

I smile back and lay back a bit, but never release him, "I love you too, David."
