Cutting is an art, don't you think? A beautiful skill only the most unfortunate of people acquire. The artists, some of them, take pride in their work. Not necessarily always pride, but the bloodshed and pain make out for a personal diary or story book. Each slice of flesh represents an emotion, a memory, an event, or something that's dear to the artist. Many don't share my views, It's understandable. You have to have a pretty open mind.

I've always wondered why people cut... why I cut. I came to an explanation not all that long ago. We live in a world where it is not socially accepted for anyone to do anything out of the norm or original. Anything that others where too scared to take on. Bullying, failed relationships with close friends and family, troubled mind, anything. So society tends to pull a trick on scared beings, a cruel trick that by doing so they think they're helping. They try make you forget. Forget all the hardships, forget how loved ones threw you out, forget how your curiosity chewed you up and spat you out. They try erase a scaring fraction of your life. So these artists, not wanting to lose themselves in humanities shit, scrawl out their feelings and memories somewhere safe, safe from removal, a permanent canvas. By engraving themselves in factors of their own being, they are able to protect the truth from being ruthlessly altered to suit society and societies beliefs. Each scar holds a part of the artist, much like how a musician's tune is a rhythmic version of themselves and what they think and believe in. It's a tragically beautiful story.

Unfortunately, society doesn't like this. Society thinks this is unacceptable. But what has it got to do with this nosey asshole? Nothing.

It is socially unacceptable for ones story to show. Yet, everyone pries to get a glimpse of your business. They offer a helping hand, but refuse to lend it. They make themselves feel better by offering the help, but don't actually provide it?

They say shit like, "You're doing it to yourself".
But look around,
In reality,
It's society.

Society is the bullies.
Society is the unfriendly.
Society is the assholes.
Society is the liars.

Society, fucks up everyone's sunshine. Society waters down an artists paint, it'll be harder to express oneself further. I don't get it. Why put a damper on someone's design and style, when in reality, you're only putting a damper on your reputation. It's like picking a fight you know you can't win. Or trying to prepare a nice, complex dish for another, when in reality you can't even make toast without starting a fire.

I guess that's just my view on it anyway.

"Another irrelevant opinion made by another irrelevant artist." ~Society
