People who cut for attention. Cut. For. Attention.

Can we just take a step back and look at that for a moment?

Open your fucking eyes and take a good look and think about it.

People say that if you harm yourself in any way, shape or form, that you're doing it for attention. Well, genius, that's not always the case. Now I say "not always" because sometimes it is.

But is that really a bad thing?

It's normal to want attention from family and friends. Completely normal. It's nice to be noticed.

But people only notice what they want to.

They'll notice the prettiest girl in the class, or the smartest kid because they could potentially get something out of it. A date, a lesson, tips, a blowjob. But people purposely ignore things they can't gain from. A few examples: people won't notice a broken ceiling fan on a cold night. They won't notice something that is okay. Only okay in their eyes. They won't notice a broken mug when they've got a champagne glass in their hands. They won't notice a classmate that's dying inside, needs support, needs love... Because they've got enough on their empty plates.

But that kid, the one who's always picked last but always the first to get picked on. Who sits at the back of class, sits alone at lunch break. Speaks, only to have their words vanish into nothing, left unheard. They need help, everyone knows it. That's a fact. But then why are they left alone? Why does no one to the humane thing and offer help. Talk to them, involve them.

That's all they want.

You notice the scars on their arms, you call it out, make it known, state the obvious fact that they want attention. But twist it? Where's the logic?

They're noticed, people can see their scars. And for the first time people can see their suffering, can see their pain, what they've gone through. The attention is on them now, they can finally get help after all that pain.

THEY WERE SCREAMING OUT, CALLING FOR HELP, but they were silent.
THEY PAINTED THEIR SKIN WITH BLOOD, you didn't listen to their words.
YOU CAN SEE THE SUFFERING, yet you don't stop it.

You call them "attention whores" and "faggots" but look around, asshole, they're not the only one in trouble.

They know you've acknowledged them, and boy they'll remember that. And you know what? After you've ignored their plea for help, after you ignored the obvious fact they're pursuing to hurt themselves. After they hit their breaking point and shatter?

All of their pain will fall onto you, inevitably. You'll have to live with the fact that, sorry to say it, but, it's your fault. It's your fault they're gone because you refused to be humane and help? You. It's all on you, buddy.

And you're just gonna spiral down into the deep pit they were stuck in. Only this time it's much deeper. Because not only have you drifted to the back of the classroom, but everything that was once in your place... Weighs you down.
