One month passes...

Since killian broke it off with Emma, Regina had been over everyday to check on her. For a few days she stayed holed upstairs in the charming residence just laying down in bed. That numb feeling never went away in her isolation. She appreciated regina trying to cheer her up even if she didn't get why she'd help her. It was a very confusing time.

It was a fresh Tuesday morning, Emma was supposed to meet Regina & Henry for breakfast in commentate for making it out the house for more than a week.

Emma had other ideas.

Long legs led her through the grassy forest in Storybrooke. The blonde jumped over a large tree trunk that had fallen to the ground. Emma was in pursuit of a mysterious figure.

Heart racing like no other sport, the rush was going to her head. It was the most action she's had in the last month.

Throwing herself into her job was keeping her mind off of .... nope, not gonna think about him.

" stop .. running!" Emma yelled out as the cloaked figure glanced back momentarily, turning back to continue his escape. There was no way she could keep this up any longer.

She needed to stop him somehow. Emma stopped a shy distance behind him, taking a deep breath to center herself like Regina taught her. She prepared to blast the figure from behind but, nothing was happening.

The figure came to a stop when he realized she stopped following behind him. He smirked noticing she was trying to use magic. " Savior, I think it goes... a little like," a dark orb appeared quickly out of his hand & shot out at Emma. " this."

The black orb knocked her off her feet & sent Emma flying across the woods. She landed on the dirt with a grunt, her head hitting a rock & knocking her unconscious.

Meanwhile, Regina checked her watch, heel tapping against the floor underneath the table at grannies. "she should've been here already."  She was getting extremely impatient waiting for Emma. Usually she was late but not this late.

" she'll come." Henry assured his mother as he stuffed his face with red grapes.

" Henry, take your time." Regina urged her son. She's taught him better manners than that. " she promised to meet us before you go to school... which we need to go now." The mayor paid for breakfast & stood up from the booth.

The diners bell rings. Emma rushed in just as the two were about to leave. " sorry, I lost track of time."

Chocolate orbs land on the disheveled savior, those very orbs instantly widened at the bloody forehead. " Emma! Your forehead." Her tone sounded like a mother scolding their child.

" it's nothing. Hey, kiddo what are you still doing here? I can still walk you to school." Emma brushes off the subject about her forehead.

Regina placed her hands on Henry's shoulders & turned him towards her. " I'll take care of your mom you hurry to school, ok?" She placed a kiss on his forehead. Henry nodded his head & gave her a quick hug before pulling away & facing his other mother, Emma. " mom, please try & be careful. I'll see you later." He quickly wrapped his arms around his mother in another quick hug. He was worried about Emma.

Emma rubbed his back softly before he pulled away & left the diner in a hurry. Chocolate orbs looked the savior over for a moment. " let's get you home & patched up."
The savior reluctantly let Regina take her back to the charming loft.

                                                                                  ꒱࿐♡

Unfortunately, both her parents were there. Could the moment get any worse? " oh, my god what happened, Emma?" Snow asked worriedly when her daughter entered the apartment with a bleeding forehead followed by Regina.

" it's nothing. Just chasing after a suspect I'll be fine my head is hard." Emma assured them when both practically raced over to her to examine the wound.

" heh, are you just now noticing that?" Regina's asked sarcastically, a look was shot her way by Emma. " just telling the truth. Let's just get you seated. It doesn't look like it'll be a concussion but, better safe than sorry."

" I didn't hit the rock too hard." Emma said walking over to the couch. She just knew all the people in the room are going to make a big fuss over this & she honestly didn't want that. Plopping down on the couch she looked up at Regina who was already hovering over her.

Chocolate hues met emerald in an eye lock, Regina's gaze was intense & a bit overwhelming for the blonde. Emma's breath hitched slightly as Regina raised her hand over her forehead. The soft hand glowing purple underneath the palm beginning to heal the wound. Emma just couldn't keep her eyes off of Regina. It wasn't too often where was healed by her.

" it still must hurt, Emma. Did you catch whoever did this at least?" Snow White asked sitting next to her daughter & rubbing her back softly. Emma shook her head, whoever it was ran fast but, that could also be blamed on her previous clumsiness. She hasn't been herself since Killan and Milah got back together. It was a major blow to her heart & mind. Just when you start opening up to someone & letting those walls down ... something happens to make them come up right back up. So, much for being hopeful. What makes it worse was just how much they paraded it around town. It was like Emma couldn't escape them in this small town.

With that in mind, Emma was thinking of taking that job offer more & more. She was going to have to talk to Henry first because it impacted him too ... and Regina. This might be tougher than she thought.
They've both argued a lot about who was Henry's mother & now that argument could happen again.

The sound of her name  being called pulled her from her thoughts.

The voice was Regina's. " You're all healed now. I think I'll tag along with your next adventure though, Emma." She sounded serious too. It's been a long time since they've worked together on
