Note: This will be a stray from both Admech and RWBY cannon, since it is a mixture of the two but leans slightly towards RWBY cause it is the setting.
A robed figure sat hunched over their splinter ridden desk, to call the object in front of them book would be an insult to it and its creator. Flayed leather, worn down by countless fingers over centuries since its creation, hung loosely - only fastened by frayed rope on the verge of snapping under the shear mass of the sickly yellow pages containing an uncountable amount of runes and glyphs in an deranged semblance of a language. The singular wax candle flickered momentarily, the edges of the light struggling to hold back the dark any longer, but the figure ignored war for survival the flame was facing. They had work to do.
With reverend movements, the cover of the tome was lifted at a sluggish pace. That was until gravity started to assist the figure. A deafening thump broke the silence of the abyss around the figure, scattering the dust from the desk and into the hungering void around them. The figure foolishly spared a moment to glance into the living shadows around them. "No, no...mustn't look." Their eyes drifted to the handcrafted runes upon the first page of the unnamed tome. The lines and curves morphing under their gaze, their brain racked as the ink formed a multitude of ideas within their mind. Emotions of pride, fear, and pain. Visions of war, slaughter, and bloodshed. Plans of betrayals, innovation, and hope. Memories of death, destruction, and rebirth. Once more the candle's strength wavered, the thirsting void creeping another inch closer to the robed figure. "The Story of Remnant," commented the figure as they finally recalled the original title before it was worn out by the sands of time and wear of usage.
There were once three gray brothers who stood alone upon an empty dull world. All three of the brothers craved power over the other, they sought a way to prove themselves the superior of three. The eldest brother crafted a sphere of light from his own breath to place within the heavens, and thus the sun was born. The youngest brother used his strength to compress a mountain into a sphere to also place within the heavens to fight the sun, and thus the moon was born. The middle brother scratched at his wrists, allowing his blood to flow unto the dull world, forming the seas and congealing into the continents.
The eldest and youngest took seats upon their heavenly bodies and mocked their brother left alone on the planet. But he did not mind. The middle brother ignored their insults, and instead walked to the corners of the world in search of his one desire, as the sun and moon both revolved around the dull world ceaselessly. As the middle brother wandered, life started to bloom from his still bleeding wrists. His footprints turned into lakes and rivers, his blood into flowers and trees, and where he would rest his head to dream, animals would appear once he awoke.
Eventually the eldest and youngest brothers ceased their war in the heavens to glance back upon the dull world they called a home, but it was no longer there. Instead it was a garden of a world, filled with the beauties of untouched nature. The sight of their brother's unmatched progress filled them with unquenchable rage.
During one day, where the sun scorched the lands, the eldest brother descended to the planet upon the western continent. His mere presence turned the lush forests into an endless desert from horizon to horizon. The middle gray brother came to confront his now light colored brother. "What are you doing here brother, are you not content with your sun?"
"No brother," lied the God of Light gesturing out the shifting sands , "I must apologize for what I have caused, but I have come bearing a gift." With a snap of his fingers, animals standing upon two limbs with two extra limbs to grab objects appeared in the desert enmass. "Humanity, so that your creatures will not be alone." So humanity went forth, slaying animals for consumption, breaking trees for materials, and plundering the world of its resources. The middle brother rushed around the world in vain to maintain his beautiful creations with his blood, but humanity expanded like a virus upon his world.
