Sunshine streaks down upon land

Long, green stems, protruding upward into the sky above

Yellow, peaceful sunflower petals withering,

Falling silently, unbeknownst to the outside world.

Dark clouds cover the shining sun

Secluding its light

Raspy whispers heard over the loud thunder

'Don't leave 'Stay. Forever.'

Rain pours heavily

Stomping out all life,

All except one.

No features

But a smile,

Bone-chilling,

Body twisting revoltingly

Moving closer, faster.

Until it encloses.

I wake, panting heavily,

In my dark room,

Rain pattering on the window.
