Sydney was sitting in a secluded bookstore, reading a romance book that puts butterflies in her stomach. Then suddenly, a boy named Jonah sits next to her.
"It's raining," Sydney whispers. Jonah's hands find her brown curly hair, twirling it.
"Thanks for telling me," Jonah responds.
Sydney entwines her hand in his. Their brown skin shining perfectly in the store lights.
"You ever think about how crazy it is we started dating when we were fourteen, and now, fifty years later, we're still here?"
Jonah loved to think about things he couldn't see, which was everything.
"We own the bookstore we used to go on dates at. Our children are married, and our grandchildren are starting school. How did I get to blessed with you?"
Sydney was a grateful woman. She had nothing as a child, but Jonah is everything.
"This my final chapter. I'm glad to have you in it." Jonah loves Sydney.
"I'm glad to have you in mine." Sydney loves Jonah.
That's real love. Never settle for less.
